The IDF drove into a hornet’s nest of resistance during one of its daily invasions of Palestinian towns and villages in the West Bank. It particularly targets Nablus and Jenin where Lion’s Den militants defend their homes from Israel’s massive display of force. A month ago it raided Nablus in a blitzkrieg operation of ferocious proportions killing 11 Palestinians. This led shortly afterward to a Palestinian attack killing two Israeli settlers. That was followed by a pogrom mounted by three of the most virulently homicidal settlements surround the village of Huwara, which was set ablaze under the watchful gaze of IDF soldiers who attacked the victims and protected the Judeo-thugs.
Yesterday’s invasion proceeded far differently. In Jenin, they were ready for the invaders. They’d planted IEDs along the main roads entering the town. Any IDF armored vehicles had to pass through them. When they did, multiple IEDs exploded, disabling most of them. Troops sitting in them were immobile and trapped. They were forced for the first time since 2006 to use helicopter gunships to attack the surrounding streets to prevent militants from shooting the soldiers after they exited their vehicles. The vehicle occupants had to be exfiltrated by helicopter, since there were no other vehicles that could remove them from the combat zone.
This Twitter scroll offers video evidence of the devastating damage to the Israeli forces.

This seems to be a major intelligence failure on the IDF’s part. It must’ve taken weeks or months for the resistance to gather the ingredients needed for the bomb, then assemble it and plant it–all while physically invisible and in total secrecy. It did all of this under the watchful gaze of what Israel considers the most skillful spy agency in the world, the Shin Bet. One which has all of Palestine under constant watch. And yet it knew nothing. Both military intelligence and the Shin Bet have informers throughout the West Bank (and Gaza), and massive levels of surveillance that can hear a Palestinian pin drop and find a Palestinian needle in a haystack. But their troops walked right into a trap of monumental proportions. Though only 7 Israeli soldiers were wounded. The toll could have been much higher. I asked a security source if he would comment on what happened and he refused, saying he had no more to say than what the security services already told the media. This is a further indication that the outcome is too embarrassing to discuss outside the security apparatus itself.
The price of resistance was high for the Palestinians. They lost seven murdered. 90 were wounded, 23 critically, one of them a 15 year-old girl. [UPDATE: This beautiful girl, Sadeel Naghniyah, succumbed to her wounds the day after the attack. Another young man did as well.]

This is the video she was shooting of the Israeli invasion forces, when she was murdered by an Israeli sniper bullet, which struck her in the forehead. Not a chance of an accident. A deliberately targeted “kill shot,” Israeli military parlance for an execution-style murder with a bullet to the head.

Many of us who analyze social and traditional media coverage of such massacres are used to the biased language employed in the headlines. Haaretz’s report is a classic. There were “clashes” in Jenin. Would you describe the My Lai massacre as a “clash?” Was the War Ghetto Uprising a “clash?” No, these were US and Nazi invasion of foreign nations with the indigenous residents engaged in armed resistance against their attackers. Nor are such fighters “terrorists.” On the contrary, the Israelis are both occupier and terrorist. Nor does the headline mention the most newsworthy aspect of the story: that Israeli forces were met with fierce and unprecedented resistance, which forced them to retreat, in what almost became a disastrous rout.
Palestinians exact their pound of [Israeli] flesh in revenge
The Palestinian resistance took revenge for the murders in an attack on a settlement gas station in Eli, where two militants killed four Israeli settlers before they themselves were killed. One of the Palestinian fighters was a member of a Hamas student group. Though the group did not take credit for the Eli attack it did frame it as revenge for Jenin:
Their spokesperson said that “the [shooting] in Eli is a response to Israel’s crimes carried out [on Monday] at the Jenin refugee camp, and the aggression against the Al-Aqsa Mosque. The struggle won’t stop until our people are free and independent.”
The response of the Judeo-fascist coalition ministers was quick and predictable. Bezalel Smotrich urged a massive attack including F-35s and tanks: “The time has come to utilize air forces and armored forces.” There is only one reason to use such massively lethal weaponry on undefended villages: if you intend to raze them to the ground. He has already called for Israel to raze Huwarah to the ground. So why not entire swaths of the Palestinian West Bank?
Last night, #Israeli settlers burned & destroyed 140 vehicles; wounded 34 civilians & kids; damaged dozens of homes & shops across 10 Palestinian villages…
Then they all walked home free…
ZERO arrests reported, ZERO condemnations by Israel’s gov or opposition leaders! pic.twitter.com/uw2eVffd1d

UPDATE: The same Judeo-fascist settlements which rampaged through Huwara after the last attack mentioned above, which killed Israeli settlers, renewed the same pogrom on Huwara in the past two days. They set the village alight (see video above) burning more of the houses, cars and businesses that they’d missed the last time they engaged in their vigilantism.
One resident was murdered by soldiers. Ten others were wounded by both the army and Judeo-thugs. The pogromists rampaged under the watchful eye of the IDF, which did nothing to stop the carnage. On the contrary, it directed live fire at the Palestinian victims. In effect, the IDF has become the protector the Judeo-terrorists. This is its mendacious account of the carnage and its purported role in “maintaining order”:
The army said in a statement that “security forces entered the town to extinguish the fires, prevent clashes and collect evidence. The Israeli civilians exited the town and the police has opened an investigation.”
In fact, this is state-sponsored terrorism. Israel has become a terror state. Not yet engaged in ethnic massacres on the scale of the Rwandan or Serbian genocides. But making steps in that direction. So far, the Palestinian victims number in the tens of thousands. But as history shows, that can change rather quickly.
The IDF told Haaretz that it requested Egyptian intervention to regain “calm.” Always after Israel slaughters scores of Palestinian innocents, it asks for calm. Calm is not something a murderer earns after committing the crime. He deserves arrest, trial and sentencing. Not calm.
The absolute stupidity of the Israel strategy is mind-blowing. It is sociopathic on a national scale. It’s true that the US has engaged in similar quagmires throughout its history beginning with the Native American genocide, through the Hiroshima-Nagasaki-Dresden bombings, to Vietnam and later Iraq. We killed millions, while those who resisted us killed tens of thousands of American soldiers. Yet we continued the same pathology as Israel is pursuing. The only difference is that eventually we learned lessons and extricated ourselves from these nightmares (though we do tend to repeat).
Israel is in the midst of what threatens to be a permanent catastrophic nightmare. But Palestinians suffer the nightmare, not Israelis. That is why this can continue ad infinitum, unless the world steps in to end it by forcing a settlement on Israel (unfortunately, highly unlikely).
It’s good to see that the Palestinians are fighting back on the West Bank and that the quisling Palestinian Authority is now irrelevant
Like Putin’s cornered rat scenario in Ukraine, threatening to use tactical nuclear weapons, Netanyahu must ‘win at all costs’ says his former Chief of Staff Yoav Horowitz, to save his political skin, even if that means taking down his own country, which will be the end of the “Jewish State”, and the beginning of a real democracy in Palestine-Israel.
Richard writes the following.

Genocide (e.g., the Spanish Expulsion of Jews and Muslims) used to be considered a sovereign right.
On Dec 11, 1946 in the aftermath of the conclusion of the 1946 Nuremberg International Tribunal, the international community banned genocide and made this ban jus cogens.

Even though the USA voted for UN GA 96, it was reluctant to ratify the “International Convention for the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide” because many senators feared that US treatment of blacks might constitute genocide. In addition, several US states were committing genocide by taking Indian children from Indian parents and giving them to white adoptive or foster parents. (The Indian Child Welfare Act ended this practice in 1978.)
After Dec 11, 1946, the Zionist leadership realized it had to clear out Palestinians as quickly as possible because the international community might realize that the Zionist movement intended to commit the international capital crime of replacement genocide.
The Zionist leadership spent the next year in planning the logistics, the PR, and the legal defense so the Zionist colonial settlers could commit and get away with genocide.
Meanwhile the BBC makes no mention of the raid on Jenin when “covering” the deaths of 4 Israelis and the settler attacks which “followed.”

As the saying goes: why are we not surprised?
