Israel is a country steeped in secrets. The military-intelligence apparatus is most secretive of all. Military censorship prevents reporting some of the most critical stories. Censors are even embedded in TV newsrooms.
How many nuclear warheads does it have? What is its military budget? Its intelligence budget? No one knows. Another example, only the identities of the most senior IDF commanders and intelligence chiefs are known. All the rest are secret. That’s to prevent them being brought to the Hague for war crimes.
I publish stories that Israeli media cannot report because the censor doesn’t want Israelis, or the world to know. Israeli security police don’t want embarrassing stories published which expose misdeeds or worse. And that’s precisely what I do and why I do it. Israel’s oligarchs and servants of power resent my reporting because it cuts too close to the bone.
I believe in telling the truth, transparency and the Israeli public’s–and the world’s–right to know. I don’t believe in secrecy or suppression of the news. I will fight for those values till my dying day.
In short, all the right people don’t like me or what I do. But you do or you wouldn’t be here. You understand the critical importance of Tikun Olam’s reporting, which strips bare the Israeli national security state.

Glad to have you here, Serge. Make yourself at home!
You’re a Jew with balls, Richard. An anomaly indeed.
Thanks for the compliment, I think. But there are many courageous Jews. I’m not the only one.
Really liking your blog, even if i am politically not that well educated. Keep up the good work!
