“We are waiting for the gas to pass,” the mayor [Bloomberg] said.
Sorry, I just had to write that headline. I know it was bad. I know I shouldn’t have. But I just had to. Please forgive me.
Anyway, while the New York City gas leak is hilarious for the rest of us, I’m sure it’s not at all hilarious to the New Yorkers suffering from it today. This incident points out how difficult it is to pinpoint the source of such leaks and makes you concerned about the potential for someone to release a toxic chemical into the city’s air and go undetected for far too long.
Given that you are a recovering New Yorker – and I’m a lifelong Chicagoan – I’ll resist the low-hanging fruit and refraid from making a New York joke on this one!
