  1. Poor journalism

Netherlands blames Iran for murders of dissidents | Middle East Eye |

“Dutch police have previously named the two victims as Ali Motamed, 56, [an alias, true identity Javad Qadiri] who was killed in the central city of Almere in 2015, and Ahmad Molla Nissi, 52, murdered in The Hague in 2017.”

  2. Every word I’ve heard heard Erdogan ‘hector’ (thanks for bringing that word back to us), has made me love him more. He cuts through the bull and lays out the scene as it is. Call him a tyrant, megalomaniac …..whatever. He’s looking out for Turkey and figures all those characters outside its borders who’ve been whispering in his ear would just as soon take over Turkey as Syria in their paths toward Greater Israel.

    1. @ Tillie 2: I once had a degree of admiration for Erdogan too. But no longer. He’s not quite as bad as MBS. At least he’s elected. But he is a tyrant in his own way. That being said, if I had a choice between a Saudi tyrant and a Turkish one–at least THIS one–I’d choose the Turk.

  3. I miss an earlier comment I posted …

Pompeo from the American University in Cairo …

The Trump Doctrine for the Middle East
    • Iran is the #1 enemy of the region
    • Hezbollah proxy in Lebanon needs to be defeated
    • Strong alliance Israel – Jordan – GCC states – Egypt
    • America is a force of good = basic truth to behold

  4. As always an interesting take on the Middle East – appreciated. I realize it had to be brief, so you could not cover all bases. I will put some thoughts together before I’ll post a comment.
