  1. One does not have to be a military expert in order to realize that the number of Israeli civilian casualties cited by Barak is extremely optimistic.
    Actually, one does have to be an expert AND have great knowledge about Israel’s defense systems, home front command and rescue services in order to be correctly estimate the number of Israeli casualties – Something that CAN be said on Barak (which I am not a fan of).

    Barak’s published estimate seems too optimistic to me also, but I cannot give a different one.
    Throwing out the number 3000, as the number of IDF casualties in the Yom Kippur war is a hunch, and Prof. Peled’s (who was a tanker in his military service) estimate is just as good as a random taxi driver’s estimate.
    Either way, I doubt that the purpose of the planned attack is not to make Obama loose the elections, no matter how unpopular he is in Israel.
