” In November a USAID official approached a colleague of mine and asked about the feasibility of building a tent city in the Sinai, which would be followed by a more permanent arrangement somewhere in the northern part of the peninsula”
Rashid Khalidi has also said in a Foreign Policy video interview:
“At the outset of this war, the President sent Secretary Blinken to convey to the Egyptians and the Jordanians a request that they allow Palestinians to be expelled into their territory. That is disgraceful. That is direct American participation in the ethnic cleansing of part of Palestine, what is historic Palestine. They immediately pulled back on that when the Egyptians and the Jordanians slapped them in the face and said, “under no circumstances.” And explained why under no circumstances would they allow that to happen.
I think that’s one of the most disgraceful chapters in American diplomacy. That the United States would, for the first time in its history, be willing to participate in forcing Palestinians out of Palestine.
Further proof of this is the Supplementary Spending Bill providing weapons for Israel & Ukraine: it included funding for the “voluntary relocation” of Gazans outside of Gaza. DAWN denounced the legislation noting:
The White House sent a request…for supplemental funding…which…includes logistical, infrastructure, and other material support to make possible housing displaced Palestinians from Gaza to neighboring countries. This section of the request states:
“These resources would support displaced and conflict affected civilians, including Palestinian refugees in Gaza and the West Bank, and to [sic] address potential needs of Gazans fleeing to neighboring countries…This would also include potential critical humanitarian infrastructure costs needed for the refugee population to provide access to basic, life-sustaining support. This crisis could well result in displacement across [the] border and higher regional humanitarian needs, and funding may be used to meet evolving programming requirements outside of Gaza.”
The Biden administration is no different than the Nazis were just before they commenced the Final Solution. They too wanted European Jews to “voluntarily” emigrate. Adolf Eichmann even made an exploratory visit to Palestine in 1938 and later said that if he had been born a Jew, he would be a “fanatical Zionist.”
Nor is our own history much better: the US ethnically cleansed Native Americans (12-million dead from disease, starvation, forced expulsion, and settler and army attacks). During WWII, we ethnically cleansed, then jailed, 120,000 Japanese Americans. That was less than 80 years ago. That a US president was prepared to ethnically cleanse 2,5 million Gazans is shocking and scandalous. That the media has reported little of this aside from the original reports to which I’ve linked, is shameful.
US genocide denial
State Department spokesliar, Matthew Miller, denied the genocide claim in the South African ICJ filing:
“Those are allegations that should not be made lightly … we are not seeing any acts that constitute genocide,” Miller said at a regular news briefing. “That is a determination by the State Department,” he added.

Yesterday, National Security Council communication director, John Kirby, when asked about the South Africa legal brief, called it:
…Meritless, counter-productive, and completely without any basis in fact whatsoever.”
This is shameless genocide denial. The slaughter is right in front of their eyes and still they pretend they don’t see it. I can imagine Hitler too had his sycophants like Goebbels telling the world that the genocide of the Jews wasn’t what it was seeing at all. Given the US status as a superpower it’s doubtful that paid liars like Kirby will face the judgement meted out to the surviving members of Hitler’s cabal (Goebbels had already committed suicide). But somehow they should be held accountable for propagating such naked lies.
Israel’s ethnic cleansing schemes to off-load Gazans on African states
Yesterday, the Times of Israel reported that Israel had approached the Congo and “other countries”about accepting Gaza refugees:
The “voluntary” resettlement of Palestinians from Gaza is slowly becoming a key official policy of the government, with a senior official saying that Israel has held talks with several countries for their potential absorption.
…Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s coalition is conducting secret contacts for accepting thousands of immigrants from Gaza with Congo, in addition to other nations.
“Congo will be willing to take in migrants, and we’re in talks with others,” a senior source in the security cabinet said
… The idea was also raised to ask Saudi Arabia to take in hundreds of thousands of Palestinians for work.
These are some of the most preposterous ideas in a seemingly endless list of them since the war began. The Congo can’t even feed its own citizens. It barely has a functioning government or economy. What will Palestinians do there? Saudi Arabia may need workers, but it doesn’t need restive Palestinians plotting revenge on Israel for their 2023 Nakba. Nor is there any history of Palestinians living or working in the kingdom as there was in Kuwait.
Israel’s history is chock full of such ethnic cleansing: from the 1948 Nakba to the 1967 War in which 300,000 Palestinians were exiled to Jordan. Israeli MKs published a “plan” recently in the Wall Street Journal, allocating Gaza refugees to Arab countries including Turkey, Syria, Egypt and Lebanon. These are some of the very same places to which it expelled 1-million Palestinians in 1948. Even today, armed settlers are terrorizing West Bank villagers, threatening them with death if they do not leave their homes. Entire villages have been depopulated.
The US has said it opposes such ideas. But it has done so in a pallid way. If it is serious, it must put up a flashing red light saying, STOP! Anything less, will give Israel license to pursue such genocidal schemes and turn them into reality.
It isn’t surprising that Israel would entertain such appalling ideas. Gazans are, like Jews were to the Nazis, vermin. “Human animals” to quote defense minister, Yoav Gallant. If you want to understand the progression from harebrained ideas to genocide in a contemporary society, look no farther than Gaza.
Add to this, that Theodore Herzl, in contemplating where the new Zionist state was to be situated, considered Uganda. How darkly ironic that all of Gaza could end up in a neighboring African country 120 years later.
A very big thank you Richard 😥
Early you had indicated the signs of Nakba 2.0 and I too called it out. The complicity and support has been clear during the Biden presidency refusing to halt the crimes of Israel cabinets as it clearly moved to ultra-right politics and the reign of Kahane. Blinken? A great disappointment caught in a web of history … a lot to blame on a recalcitrant U.S. Congress too. Genocide before the eyes of the world. Germany and many European nations once again on the wrong side of history.
Beyond censorship, moving on …
Next stage … mopping up the pieces. Politics is about perception, not facts or human rights.
Lessons of Fallujah …
The Beltway dispatched military advisors seasoned in theaters of operations like Fallujah and Mosul on urban warfare to Israel.
Of course US Army trained in Israel after lessons of the Jenin massacre of 2002. Prisoner interrogation, dehumanization Muslim faith and torture. Abu Ghraib.
Is there ANY crime we will not help Israel to do?
The US is not merely an accessory, it is the motivator and enabler without whose help, Israel would not be able to do anything.
I was watching a graph of the exchange rate development between Dollar (USD) and Israeli Shekel (ILS) and noticed rather surprising trends. After the Ukraine war started in February 2022 Shekel lost its value against Dollar until after 7th October Shekel’s trend radical turned and became stronger compared to USD. Considering that Israel’s economy is in freefall, when the workers are fighting in Gaza and north, hundreds of thousands Jews have left the country and a couple of hundred thousands live in hotels waiting the situation to be “solved”. Also the Tel Aviv stock exchange index (TA-35) has been for the last 2 months been steadily growing. Simply astonishing. Seems that war and a public unseen cruel genocide is a good business for Israel.
One interesting point not reported in western media is the voluntary resettlement of Israeli Jews during and after this war. So far already hundreds of thousands of Jews have used their second passport and resettled themselves and their children in a more peaceful country. Very few of them will move back permanently, because Israel will not offer a solution to the Palestinian problem and so offer a safe enviroment to its citizens . With the more or less secular portion of the Jewish population leaving this ultra dangerous battlefield means also, that much of the business in the country will be either closed or moved to safer environments.
With mostly Jewish persons responsible as civil servants and decision makers in USA’s foreign policy, forming it and guiding the decisions and acts around Israel, what else to could be expected from the US. Those US Jews in central roles in this “game” are not neutral, they are selected Zionists with complete support towards Israel (not so much advocating USA’s own real interests). Amos Hochstein is a perfect example of this lunacy. So USA can not provide Israel no solution to Israel’s core problem and USA only is forced to continue financing the occupation and reloading the military in these “lawn operations”. The price of this is that USA looses fast its influence and authority in the world.
Excellent post.
U.S. authority comes out of the barrel of a gun … still leading and unchallenged.

Richard, surely Turkey is not an Arabic country?
@ Huw: No, it’s a Muslim country that was included among those proposed to accept expelled Gazans.

Reply by Israel attention on horrific attack of 7th October …. emotional visual presentation … ignored by S Africa in their application on alleged acts of genocide … absurdity unlimited murders, rape presented not only in words but also in video.
Largest single day massacre of Jews since the Holocaust.
Manipulation accusing S Africa to hide atrocities by Hamas terrorists. No legal arguments but attacking persons taking Israel to task. A court decision would make it more difficult for the state of Israel to defend its citizens … pictures of Israeli victims are shown.
Oui: YOu should live blog the court proceedings. Let me know if you do, or if you know anyone who is.
I have dubbed Eylon Levy Jerusalem ’Bob’ in the line of successors to Baghdad ’Bob’ … spouting obvious lies no one believes outside his PMO. A worthy successor to Mark Regev, the Hasbara king, now being entertained on Western broadcasts like CNN fable news.
