I know this story is all over the news and I don’t want to bore people any more than is necessary. But I have one simple question. If the Nigerian terror suspect who attempted to down a Northwest airline flight was on an expanded low-risk terror list, why shouldn’t anyone on that list who flies at least receive a full body search BEFORE flying here? I understand he wasn’t on a no fly list and I understand why he wasn’t. But shouldn’t anyone placed on the low-risk list who does fly receive a full, careful inspection beforehand as he apparently wasn’t? There are 500,000 individuals on the low risk list. I don’t think it would be particularly onerous or complicated to have their names flagged for special consideration should they fly.
Shouldn’t this be one of the procedures they change?
