It’s hard to know where to begin regarding Donald Trump’s latest brain farts regarding Gaza. He delivered formal remarks in his press conference with Netanyahu and has expanded on them informally. Here is the press conference statement on Gaza:
Trump: every old Nakba is new again
I also strongly believe that the Gaza Strip, which has been a symbol of death and destruction for so many decades and so bad for the people anywhere near it, and especially those who live there and frankly who’s been really very unlucky [sic]. It’s been very unlucky. It’s been an unlucky place for a long time.
…It should not go through a process of rebuilding and occupation by the same people that have really stood there and fought for it and lived there and died there and lived a miserable existence there. Instead, we should go to other countries of interest with humanitarian hearts, and there are many of them that want to do this and build various domains that will ultimately be occupied by the million Palestinians living in Gaza, ending the death and destruction and frankly bad luck.
This can be paid for by neighboring countries of great wealth. It could be one, two, three, four, five, seven, eight, twelve. It could be numerous sites, or it could be one large site. But the people will be able to live in comfort and peace and we’ll get – we’ll make sure something really spectacular is done.
They’re going to have peace; they’re not going to be shot at and killed and destroyed like this civilization of wonderful people has had to endure. The only reason the Palestinians want to go back to Gaza is they have no alternative. It’s right now a demolition site. This is just a demolition site. Virtually every building is down.
They’re living under fallen concrete that’s very dangerous and very precarious. They instead can occupy all of a beautiful area with homes and safety and they can live out their lives in peace and harmony instead of having to go back and do it again. The US will take over the Gaza Strip and we will do a job with it too.
We’ll own it and be responsible for dismantling all of the dangerous unexploded bombs and other weapons on the site, level the site and get rid of the destroyed buildings, level it out…Do a real job, do something different.
After his remarks a reporter asked him a question:
Asked whether he was willing to send US troops to fill a security vacuum in Gaza, Trump did not rule it out.
“As far as Gaza is concerned, we’ll do what is necessary. If it’s necessary, we’ll do that. We’re going to take over that piece that we’re going to develop it,” he said.
He added that he saw the US take a “long-term ownership position” in Gaza. These are the transactional phrases of real estate deals. It’s no secret that he and his son-in-law see Gaza’s beautiful beaches as an investment opportunity. I can just envision a 36-hole Trump-branded golf course with a Trump hotel and of course beachfront Trump villas going for tens of millions. The remaining Palestinians who haven’t been shipped off to the Sinai or Saudi desert, will become housecleaners, maids, nannies, gardeners and cooks (if they’re lucky) for the wealthy.
We break it, they own it
Yesterday, his press secretary explained why Gaza needs to be ethnically cleansed. And it all of a sudden made sense (to me, if not to you):
Leavitt said in a briefing with reporters in Washington that Gaza is “a demolition site” and referenced footage of the devastation.
“The president has made it clear that they need to be temporarily relocated out of Gaza,” she said, calling it currently “an uninhabitable place for human beings” and saying it would be “evil to suggest that people should live in such dire conditions.”
$26-billion worth of US weapons created Gaza’s “demolition site”
Irony is lost on these fools. Who does she think caused the dire conditions and made it “uninhabitable?” The US did, of course. $26-billion dollars worth of carnage. And we are responsible for it. Now Trump wants to further punish the Palestinians by putting US boots on the ground to force them off their land into camps in foreign Arab countries who don’t want them to begin with.
Israel stampeded 1-million indigenous Palestinians during the Nakba. Now millions live as refugees in Jordan, Lebanon and Syria and Trump wants to “dump” 2-million more Palestinians on them. Why didn’t I think of such a wonderful plan?? Surely, King Abdullah and Egypt’s al-Sisi will welcome it.
Trump raped E. Jean Carroll. Now he’s screwing this country and he wants to screw the Palestinians as well. Not to mention all those “one, two, three, four, five, seven, eight, twelve” Arab states purportedly clamoring to help.
Trump’s Arab buddies aren’t so keen on his plan. In fact, five members of the Arab League met the day before Trump hosted Netanyahu and poured a bucket of ice cold water on Trump’s Gaza on the Riviera:
We affirm our rejection of [any attempts] to compromise Palestinians’ unalienable rights, whether through settlement activities, or evictions or annex[ation] of land or through vacating the land from its owners … in any form or under any circumstances or justifications…Displacement of the Palestinian people from their land is an injustice that we cannot take part in,” he added.
They added that such plans “threaten the region’s stability, risk expanding the conflict, and undermine prospects for peace and coexistence among its peoples.” The Saudi foreign ministry offered its own rejection:
“The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia reiterates its firm rejection of any infringement on the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people,” the Saudi Foreign Ministry said in a statement Tuesday night. “This includes opposition to Israeli settlement policies, the annexation of Palestinian lands, and efforts to displace the Palestinian people from their homeland.”
There is one major obstacle to realizing this Gaza Riviera: Hamas. The ceasefire has enabled it to resume control of Gaza. It will not go quietly if anyone seeks to dislodge it. 18 months of vicious fighting hasn’t eliminated it, as Netanyahu promised he would do after 10/7. Will Trump send in troops to do what the IDF couldn’t? Is he a fool?
The president’s statement that he will “take over” and “own” Gaza reminds me of his plans to make Canada the 51st state, buy (or invade?) Greenland, and muscle Panama out of the Panama Canal. This is Manifest Destiny run amok. Unlike Teddy Roosevelt’s “speaking softly and carry a big stick,” Trump’s slogan is “carry a big fucking stick and use it [if they make you].”

We’ve seen these plans a long time ago from the Zionists, the illegal settler groups.
I understand there is a video circulating of Kushner promoting such a plan a year (?) ago … did Jared get his bonus for his activity from Abu Dhabi, Emirates and/or KSA … or a combination. Plenty of wealth going around and around.
It’s worthwhile to note how Israel’s opposition leaders, often referred to as “political centre”, eagerly toeing the US Sociopath in Chief’s criminal line.
Make Gaza another Los Vegas, then you can place your bets there.
Just think you can live the life of Reiley there.
Let’s not hesitate get everybody out of Gaza so we can make are millions.
The hell with the people, the money is way more important.
Trump and Kushner keep up the good work, get those people out of Gaza.
Economic development is the answer. Jobs, good paying jobs, so they can pay off the homes you
build for them. Keep the money rolling. Peace brother ,peace. That is a PIECE OF THIS AND A PIECE OF THAT.
GOOD LUCK TO ALL YOU WINNERS.
It seems that the US is condemned to be ruled by idiots and voted for by idiots, just some of the idiot leaders are more so than others.
A few points to consider:
*Most Gazans have been “relocated/displaced/expelled” from their home three times before they ended up in Gaza and all because of Israel’s brutal oppression. They know what “Temporary relocation” means.
*The US and Europe continue to be blind supporters and suppliers for any atrocity Israel can concoct. It is beyond comprehension that the very nation responsible for the genocide of Jews in WWII, is actively providing means to commit yet another genocide but this time by its erstwhile victims, on yet another people.
*Hamas and other resistance groups would not have existed if it weren’t for Israel’s occupation, constant slaughters and oppression. the past year+ of Israeli/US bombing has brought more recruits to the resistance groups than a mountain of gold could have done and now they know that they have to resist or die anyway. Hamas can never be “eliminated” as long as Israel believes brutality is the only answer to anything Palestinian.
The headline at Justice in Conflict is ‘Trump’s Gaza “Plan” would mean committing every core international crime.‘ https://justiceinconflict.org/2025/02/06/trumps-gaza-plan-would-mean-committing-every-core-international-crime/
The article notes:
“Ironically, for a government so terrified of coming under the scrutiny of the ICC that it is seeking to issue sanctions against the Court, the White House’s “plan” almost begs the ICC to investigate American conduct in Gaza.”
It should come as no surprise that Netanyahu is already a fugitve, and Trump is a convicted felon.Today Trump is scheduled to sign his ICC sanctions Executive Order. He is still waiting for Senate Democrats to sign the separate legislation because they are using it as leverage to hold up OMB and other confirmations.
It’s hilarious to me that Canada just changed its mind and prosecuted an international case from Iraq based upon universal jurisdiction where the ICC lacks jurisdiction. See: A Return to Universal Jurisdiction? Canada reverses course, charges alleged ISIS fighter with War Crimes https://justiceinconflict.org/2024/12/20/a-return-to-universal-jurisdiction-canada-reverses-course-charges-alleged-isis-fighter-with-war-crimes/
Mexico likewise has advised the 6th Committee it would only exercise universal jurisdiction if the normal state that exercised jurisdiction lacked the will or capacity and the ICC didn’t have jurisdiction. Those conditions would apply to all of the states here: Israel, and the USA. FYI: Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Panama, Peru, and Uruguay are capable of exercising universal jurisdiction and several already have statues they can activate. See: Universal Jurisdiction in Latin America – Vance Center https://www.vancecenter.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Universal-Jurisdiction-in-Latin-America.-Executive-Summary-and-Regional-analysis.pdf
The USA and Israel have both exercised universal universal jurisdiction themselves in the past. It would not be improper for other states to utilize it because the USA and Israel have gone too far.
You took this outrage on with admirable control and rationality. There are some on this side that think this is a perfectly good idea, never mind the *real* ultimate result, the feasibility, the irony (we helped make this mess) , the hypocrisy (promising no military involvement, we should focus on home), the absolute lack of credibility and ability proven over and again. Trump is betraying his voters big time. This is fantasy from a man we have said and keep saying is unfit, mentally off, and incoherent. We are saying now this is a deflection from a coup. Trump is not in charge. Trump is the Distractor in Chief.
This is not normal mental illness. But it surely is mental illness. Maybe the ME leaders are getting the picture. In the meantime this deflects what the wrecking ball Musk is doing at home.
None of this presents a coherent scheme when taken together if people start to think. It’s contradictory. It’s unreal. It’s insane.
It’s time for yes impeachment again. But maybe this brew needs to ferment more.. help us! Time is of essence.
Comments made by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to an Israeli TV channel, saying: “The Saudis can create a Palestinian state in Saudi Arabia; they have a lot of land over there.”
My question is: why does a foreigner who know very little on the actual suffering. Of the Gazans, think he knows what better for them.
Palestinians have been hostages by Arab countries since 1948. Not allowed to settle down. Now foreigners insist they should continue and suffer in Gaza.
Will you support accepting Gazans who want to leave into the country of their choice?
why does a foreigner who know very little on the actual suffering. Of the Gazans, think he knows what better for them.
Right back at ya: why does an Israeli who not only knowns very little of the actual suffering of Palestinians, but doesn’t give a crap about it, have the right to any opinions on what’s best for Palestinians?
Palestinians have been hostages by Arab countries since 1948
Cute how you try to blame the very countries forced to accept ethnically cleansed Palestinians–expelled by your country from their indigenous homeland–for Palestinian misery. You’re the address for that I’m afraid, not the Arab states.
Not allowed to settle down.
The expulsion of 1-million Palestinians by your country is not the responsibility of the Arab states. It is YOUR responsibility. You are at fault. You are guilty of this act of genocide.
Will you support accepting Gazans who want to leave into the country of their choice?
Don’t make me laugh. You know so much about Palestinians that you believe any Gazan would leave “of their own choice?” No, they want to live in peace in their homeland. THey want to live there just like you want to live in your home. But there’s one tiny problem standing in the way: YOU and your country. Of course you want them to leave voluntarily, so you aren’t blamed for their expulsion. But no Palestinian will leave voluntarily. That is what sumud means. Steadfastness in the face of genocide.
I think it is a good idea to encourage the Palestinians to leave Gaza. Thinking out of the box, let the Palestinians go to Israel and return to the homes their ancestors had before 1948.
You are giving a lot of justice like reasons for what should happen.
The facts are, refugees all over the world were allowed to restart their life in a differs place. 10s of millions in the 1940s alone.
You, and others like you, insist on the continued suffering of these people in order to achieve some justice you believe in. Give them the option to decide for themselves. Instead, you support keeping them in the same horrible situation for a higher cause. You are as responsible for the suffering by preventing from Palestinians who are interested to move on.
Whenever pro-Israel apologists tell you what the facts are, you know they aren’t.
refugees all over the world were allowed to restart their life in a differs place
Yup. Hitler ensured that a millions Jews became refugees and fled their homes in Europe. THe US force marched almost the entire Cherokee Nation from homes in N. Carolina to Oklahoma, with tens of thousands dying on the way. That’s the model you’re endorsing? It’s OK to engage in genocide & forcibly expel indigenous Palestinians because other genociders did it as well?
insist on the continued suffering of these people
Someone whose country is engaged in genocide and murdered hundreds of thousands talks to me on insisting on continued suffering?? Really. You’re playing a losing hand & don’t even know it.
Give them the option to decide for themselves.
Put the shoe on the other foot. The Palestinians engage in genocide against Israelis. They give you the chance to flee to another country like Uganda (not Europe or the US). Do you leave or stay? I thought so. Hypocrite.
you support keeping them in the same horrible situation for a higher cause.
