  1. “Like a fly that refuses to drown in cream, Netanyahu kicked his legs more and more until the cream became butter. “–Nahum Barnea

  2. “They would do so at the hands of the Opposition and thus seal the success of forming a new far-right ruling regime. Which would mean, by the end of its next term, Israel will have been governed by the far-right for the past 45 years (except for a few years when Ehud Barak was PM).”

Don’t forget that Yitzhak Rabin was elected PM in 1992. He was working on settling the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and had just completed giving a strong speech at what is now Rabin Square, when he was killed by a Jewish settler who the Shin Bet let into the square. Netanyahu go elected the first time in 1996 after Shimon Peres didn’t carry out Rabin’s policies. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yitzhak_Rabin

    1. @ Yoni Levy: Of the past 45 years. Rabin and Barak ruled a total of perhaps five years, maybe 6. That’s still but a blip in the ironclad control Likud has had over Israeli politics during this era.
