Donald Trump has done it again. And done it as only he can. I’m referring to his promotion to his 44-million Twitter followers of anti-Muslim videos published by one of Britain’s most vile, hateful, and homicidal neo-Nazi groups, Britain First. Since it’s clear that Trump’s mental faculties are attenuated at best, it’s not even clear he understands fully what he’s doing when he latches onto such garbage and sends it rocketing through the social media world.
The NY Times has published a full account of each of the three videos and essentially explained why they’re not what the Britain First leader claimed when she tweeted them. Her account of one video is flat-out wrong and a lie. The second video features an al-Nusra radical imam destroying a statue of the Virgin Mary, an act that would be denounced by 99.99% of the world’s Muslims. And the third video shows the murder of a protester during an Egyptian rally after the military junta overthrew the democratically elected president. Neither Trump or Britain First explain that the murderer was convicted for his crime and himself executed.
Trump has legitimised the far right in his own country, now he’s trying to do it in ours. Spreading hatred has consequences & the President should be ashamed of himself.

No less a figure than Prime Minister Theresa May denounced the Trump tweets in no uncertain terms. An even more moving account was offered by the husband of Jo Cox, a Labour MP who was assassinated by a British neo-Nazi shouting “Britain First” as he killed her. In other words, Trump has promoted the views of a political group responsible for the murder of British politicians. Think on that for a second…
The Times also points out that the neo-Nazi alt-right is delighted with the attention Trump has showered on them. David Duke offers Trump a thousand kisses. As does Britain First itself. In fact, its Twitter account now features a banner photo of Donald Trump, their Dear Leader.
Folks, it’s time to call a spade a spade. Our president is a neo-Nazi. And if he isn’t quite there yet, he’s a fellow traveler for sure. The fact that the Republican Party doesn’t run away from him as if their hair were on fire is beyond mysterious. Unless they have a death wish. The American electorate will hopefully deliver the coup de grace in 2018.
And where are the Arab/Muslim majority countries? Instead of standing on their hind legs and warning of diplomatic repercussions, they do business as usual with the US…
@ Ron T: You’re one of those non-Arabs & non-Muslims who love to tell them what they should do or believe. Not to mention that many Arab states are doing little or no “business” with the U.S. because they’re allergic to it. And those who are doing business aren’t always terribly happy with the outcome for themselves.
