פרשה ביטחונית חדשה: השב”כ עצר תחת צא”פ 5 חברים בולטים בתנועה האיסלאמית
Ten days ago Israeli police broke into the homes of five current and former leaders of the northern branch of the Islamic Movement, trashed their homes searching for God knows what, and arrested them. It “disappeared” them for all that time, interrogating them without access to counsel. A gag prohibited any reporting of their case. The security source who reported this to me would not reveal the charges against them. Their detention has been extended three times without any charges filed. Since the Islamic Movement is a banned group, they could be arrested for any reason or no reason they way this aspect of Israeli “democracy” works.
A human rights group, Stop the Prawer Plan, posted to Facebook the names of two of the detainees. They are: former Umm al Fahm mayor, Suleiman Ahmad Agbaria and Firas al-Omary. The latter currently leads a prisoners’ rights NGO. The names of the other three are not known and my source refused to provide any further information about them.
