I’ve written here before about why I find ultrasounds so impressive and fascinating (especially if you’re the expectant parent). My wife and I yesterday had an ultrasound of our twin babies. The image here is of our girl. They’re at 30 weeks and the boy, whose name will be Adin Chanan weighs 3 pounds 12 ounces, while the girl, Miriam Rose, weighs 3 pounds 3 ounces.
Our OB, Dr. Robert Levine is somewhat concerned that our girl is only in the 14th percentile (the boy is in the 46th), though he also tells us that it is normal for one fetus to grow at a faster rate than the second especially near the end of the pregnancy. He told us that he would do another ultrasound in two weeks to watch her progress. If her weight fell below the 5th percentile, then they might induce though we’re all hoping that won’t happen. Those babies need every day they can get inside Mommy’s womb.
Earlier in the pregnancy the thought of having three children with two of them twins just about drove me to distraction with worry and fear. But now, I’m more or less settling in to the idea of twins and almost looking forward to it. None of my siblings or Janis’ has had a girl, so this is an especially exciting prospect.

My ob/gyn is in Levine’s practice so I have seen him. I too had problems with babies seeming to be low weight. I hope and pray all goes well for you…to me, at least, the time has disappeared fast since I read your announcement! Enjoy your twins. Three is a great number!
