Menachem Klein (photo: Bar Ilan University)Prof. Menachem Klein of Bar Ilan University and one of Israel’s Oslo negotiators and architects of the Geneva Accords will speak with Prof. Joel Migdal of the Jackson School of International Studies and Jewish Studies UW. They will analyze the results of the all-important March 28 Israeli election and its significance in light of the Palestinian parliamentary elections in January.
They will speak on election night, Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at 7:30 PM at Congregation Beth Shalom, 6800 – 35th Ave. NE, Seattle. It is a free talk and open to the public and sponsored by the UWJewish Studies Program, the Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies UW, the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle, Bret Tzedek v’Shalom, Temple Beth Am, Congregation Beth Shalom.

If I can get to the event I’ll ask him myself. It would be a shame since the election is so important. Seems that turnout will be low (65%%) for Israel, according to Haaretz reports, which is also a shame.
Since Israel does not know an absentee ballot ( except for offical emissaries, as far as I know ), does this mean that professor Klein does not vote himself? That is a shame.
