Amazon launched a shameless bid for corporate welfare last week when it announced plans to build a second corporate headquarters somewhere in the U.S. One consultant estimated the company would be seeking up to $1-billion in tax incentives and other benefits from the winning city. The Real News Network interviewed me last week and I outlined many of the worrisome impacts the corporate megasaurus would have on its new home including increased pollution, traffic, affordability and cost of living. I hope you’ll give a listen.
Earlier this month Baruch Zeichner, a psychologist who produces the Paradigms podcast for several syndicated public radio stations interviewed me (listen online) about Israel, Zionism, Israeli theocracy and BDS, among other topics. In it, I cover some of the broader issues I don’t always get to discuss here in the blog. The full interview is just over an hour, though stations in Fairbanks, Burlington and Bend will hear condensed versions. If you have a local independent or Pacifica station, the half-hour version of the program is also available via its radio archive. Please urge your station to air the show.
Last week, I published my latest piece for Middle East Eye about the Saudi crown prince’s secret visit to Israel and its implications for Israel’s relations with half the region’s Muslims. Please give it a read and promote it via social media.
