Thank God there are a few D.C. politicians who can be embarrassed into doing the right thing. Arlen Specter had been hoodwinked by Daniel Pipes into addressing his conference on “lawfare,” the alleged phenomenon of Muslim intimidation of its opponents through lawsuits and other types of harassment.
Matt Duss reported on this and CAIR picked it up and ran a petition campaign attempting to educate the senator about the bedfellows with whom he was about to lie down. Word came yesterday from CAIR that Specter thought better and developed a sudden scheduling conflict that prevented his participation.
Now if we can only do the same with Chuck Schumer, who seems to believe that making cause with Jewish pogromists will help his political standing in New York.
Poor Pipes. All he has left is Schumer and his little Weiner.
That was a GOOD ONE! Allow me to ‘appropriate’ it please!
LOL…. Specter probably did have a conflict… it’s funny if that were confirmed with you gloating about how “this blog” so “influential” (:-0))) and CAIR really “intimidated” him…
It’s even more amusing to listen to you belittle people and then show the real gravitas of this blog talking about Pipe’s weiner… this coming from someone with your mug in a picture…. (not that Pipe’s mug is an improvement)
Also, citing CAIR with all its extremist ties as a valued source of information or as a teammate in a cause is a real plus to your “credibility”…
Yes, CAIR is a mainstream Muslim organization while this conference and Pipes are extremists….. LOL!!!!!
I would never make a joke about Pipes’ Weiner. But I don’t object to someone else doing so. BTW, it was quite an entertaining joke because it referred to Anthony Weiner, who is also speaking on the same bill with Schumer. But you prob. don’t have enough of a sense of humor to appreciate that.
I don’t think Specter was hoodwinked by Pipes. He was embarrassed that he got caught. If Schumer is not embarrassed, there is no hope in this world.
No I have plenty of sense of humor for much better jokes than that… however, I’ve seen you “feign impropriety” and huff and puff at others for far less when it suits you… usually followed by a morality lesson from you… you just gotta laugh at a hypocrite… you? nah……..
Now I thought for a minute there you were describing yrself.!
