Comcast: We know you told us you did not want to receive any e mail crap from us and we thought we would e mail you to make yet another attempt to get you to sign up for that crap you said you never wanted.
From time to time, I enjoy skewering the marketing genius of various American corporations. Today, the award goes to Comcast for this obtuse e-mail communication from them which reads in part:
…You have asked Comcast not to communicate with you via email regarding offers and promotions…
We appreciate your understanding as we strive to bring you a superior level of customer service…
You can get more from Comcast. More offers. More discounts…right in your Inbox. Sign Up Now.

Your comment leads me to the conclusion that it’s not just Comcast’s marketing strrategy that is dimwitted. If this is the kind of consumer relations that Comcast values, then I’m afraid you’re both know absolutely nothing about marketing. And that’s putting it mildly.
