That’s right. Even in his home state Rudy’s tanking. James Besser reports this in Jewish Week:
A WNBC/Marist poll shows Giuliani now trailing McCain in New York. According to the survey, 34 percent of registered Republicans now support McCain, with Giuliani a distant second at 23 percent.
More ominous for the Giuliani campaign: 46 percent of registered Republicans surveyed see McCain as the candidate with the best chance of keeping the White House in Republican hands; only 15 percent see Giuliani as the most electable.
Yes! There is a God. And he hates Rudy as much as I do. This makes me so relieved that Daniel Pipes won’t be the next Elliot Abrams of a Giuliani administration, Undersecretary of State for Near East Affairs (or whatever the title is) and thus able to spew his anti-Muslim bile on the world stage under the aegis of the U.S. government.
I always thought McCain would be a far more formidable candidate. Unfortunately, Republicans are starting to agree with me. I guess I shoulda wished for Rudy to actually win…
Thanks for the good news that Rudy’s star is dimming.
Rudy is the most frightening of all the candidates. Why would any rational person name Norman Podhoretz and Daniel Pipes as top foreign policy advisors? Those two are despicable. Daniel Pipes–like Dennis Praeger and David Horowitz–leads a crusade at American colleges against academic freedom (only if a professor dare to criticize Israeli policies). I never thought that I would see the day when anyone who loves democracy would actively attack ACADEMIC FREEDOM. He wants to ethnically profile Muslims in the US and ethnically cleanse Israel and the Occupied Territories of Palestinians. Podhoretz said in his June article in Commentary, “Mr President, as a Jew, as an American, I beg you PLEASE BOMB IRAN.” I translate that to read — Mr. President, as a Jew whose first concern is Israel, I beg you, PLEASE BOMB IRAN. The neocons have taken us over a cliff in the Middle East, and now they wish to enlarge the conflict with an attack on Iran. Fortunately, the American people appear to be pushing Rudy over the cliff with his extemists advisors.
Rudi (yes I know how it is spelled) was running for the president of Vichy America. His first official act would have been to officially surrender to Apartheid Israel.
Thank God for some things – except McCain will not be easy to defeat, if indeed he can be. In spite of his declaring that if we have to remain in Iraq 100 years, we will! I wonder if H. L. Mencken was right when he said, “The more I see of humans the better I like dogs.”
