I had my Andy Warhol brush with fame (mine lasted 15 minutes) last week on Mike Brand’s Rainbow program on All for Peace Radio. It was rather elementary stuff: “what’s a blog?” “how many visit your blog?” “how do you let people know about your blog?” But I did get a chance to promote a few other blogs dealing with Israeli Palestinian peace which I admire. I also got a chance to talk about the reasons why blogging on this subject from a progressive vantage point is important. Thanks again, Mike, I really appreciate the opportunity to speak to your audience. And thanks for opening your air to bloggers like us.
Here’s the audio of the interview. I tried using Polderbits to record and edit the audio file. For some reason I don’t understand, it looks like the interview doesn’t begin until 1:13 into the file. So be prepared to use your slider to move to the beginning of the interview. The sound quality is not superb and a few important words and syllables are so garbled that what I say is unintelligible. The one Palestinian blog I wanted to plug and whose URL was garbled in the interview is Raising Yousouf, a fine effort by a Gazan mom who reports for Al Jazeera (not sure if she’s a freelancer or regular staff).
Listening now. Terrific interview. Even if you hadn’t mentioned my blog. It’s interesting just to hear your voice on the radio – contemplative and calm – we need that in talking about the Mideast.
I like what you say about blogs and creating community… Interviewer asking interesting questions about the dialogue that takes place on blogs – do people criticize you? Yes, but they often agree or expand on your thoughts too… Have you ever been sued? Goodness, a scary thought… I’m glad you’re telling listeners about the whole world of information and discussion thats out here.
I’m so glad you mentioned Raising Yousouf, and Head Heeb. Both great blogs.
Well done, Richard – congrats!
