I first heard about Danielle Custer’s amazing culinary gifts when she took Seattle by storm after arriving from Dallas and turning Fuller’s at the Sheraton into a four-star restaurant. She then moved on to 727 Pine (Elliot Grand Hyatt) for far too short a while. The hotel managers decided they didn’t want a “big statement” restaurant in their establishment and instead opted for conventional culinary fare and shortly Danielle was on the other projects. I’m pleased that Seattlelites can once again sample Danielle’s fare at the Seattle Art Museum’s Bon Appetit Cafe (actually, she’s the general manager and you’re sampling her chef’s fare, but she’s the inspiration behind everything).

Danielle sent me an e mail after reading my short post about her work at 727. She tells me that she’s hosting a SPLASH Winemaker Dinner Series with the next event on February 17th featuring Townshend Cellars. The meal precedes a special preview for a new SAM exhibit, Between Past and Future: New Photography and Video from China.
Here are a few items from what looks like a heavenly menu:

* Modern Oyster Po’boy: taylor oysters, grilled brioche, potato-caper puree & greens

* Chocolate-hazelnut Tart
