Back in my days of Hebrew school, Hebrew High School and Camp Ramah I remember the book title, Wit & Wisdom of the Sages. I think it had something to do with Pirke Avot.
Nowadays, some of my favorite wit & wisdom comes from the mouth of a babe, my 4 year old son Jonah. A few nights ago I came to bed around 3 AM (I do some of my best blogging in the midnight hours) to find his stuffed animals lining the headboard of my bed and him asleep there. We don’t generally let him sleep with us, but with 10 week old twins, we realize that Jonah is going through some tough adjustments (which he seems to be taking very well). So I wasn’t about to carry him back to his own bed. I brought his pillow into bed and tucked it under his head. Then when I attempted to move his body so he wouldn’t fall out of the bed, he murmured to me sweetly: “It’s all right dad, go to sleep.” God, doesn’t it makes your heart melt!
