One big-mouthed Israel minister running for Kadima party chair may’ve cost the world economy billions in losses:
Mofaz said in a newspaper interview on Friday that “if Iran continues with its program for developing nuclear weapons, we will attack it. The sanctions are ineffective. Attacking Iran, in order to stop its nuclear plans, will be unavoidable.”
…Mofaz’s remarks helped drive up oil prices by nearly 9 percent to a record $139 a barrel on Friday…
This leaves out the 400 point decline in the Dow, not to mention similar declines in other world markets. If only those markets could force Mofaz to make whole those who lost their shirts because of his incredibly irresponsible and politically grasping jingoism. But he sure made Michael “Nuke ‘Em’ Ledeen a happy warrior.
