Jonah’s uncle Todd came to visit for Northwest Folklife last weekend and brought along two Portland musician friends. That gave my 3 year old the kind of audience he loves. And sure enough, out came a song we’d never heard him sing before. If I can follow the shaky lyrics and tune he sang, it goes something like this:
Peanut sat on the railroad track
Along came an E train and made him flutter
Then the peanut became peanut butter.
As he sang “peanut butter” his arm rose in triumphant salute (a la Diana Ross in Las Vegas). He screamed out the last words and collapsed into a paroxysm of giggles and laughter as if he’d sung the funniest song ever written.
Quite a performance and I managed to get it on video!
Jonah is an absolute doll! and the dog…well…too cute for words. Lucky guy you!
