Bibi Netanyahu spoke at an International Holocaust Remembrance event on the day after the Judeo-Nazi Jerusalem Day pogrom.  His remarks offered a pseudo-historical counter-point to the rabid genocidal rhetoric heard on the prior day. He offered a melange of lies, half-truths and sheer whoppers:

Netanyahu Labels Global Pro-Palestine Movement the ‘Eighth Front’ in War on “Western Civilization”

Israel is not only fighting Hamas but a global “eighth front” [Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, Gaza, Iran, Iraq, etc.] war—framing pro-Palestinian demonstrations as a civilizational threat to “free societies” across the world.

Netanyahu said protests in Western capitals are “celebrating murderers, rapists, baby burners, hostage takers.” He claimed Israeli, American, British, Canadian, and French flags are being burned at these protests [they aren’t], and are evidence of a broader attack on “Western civilization.”

Netanyahu claimed that Hamas’s October 7 assault was an attempt to “recreate the Holocaust”…

He claimed that…world leaders…are “cowed” by pro-Palestinian movements and are trying to “corral the victim,” while actually enabling “barbarians” and weakening free societies’ ability to defend themselves.

It’s a bitter irony that Netanyahu, in seeking to transform the Palestinians into Nazis. employs the same inflamed, hysterical rhetoric employed by Nazis themselves against  Jews. While “analyzing” the events which led to the Holocaust, he actually lays out the plan that Israel has followed against Gaza since 10/7:

“You dehumanize a group of people in human society and you prepare them for the kill, for the butchery. That is always the case.  You always demonize before you annihilate.

Had they had their way, they would have butchered every man, woman and child in this state, and every Jew around the world. They openly say that.

One thing you have to say for Bibi, he never lets the truth or facts get in the way of a piece of good propaganda.  This is itself incitement to genocide.  Precisely the sort of rhetoric you would have heard from Myanmar Buddhists against the Rohingya minority; or on Rwandan Hutu radio programs calling for genocide against their Tutu neighbors.

The best way for Netanyahu to delegitimize Palestinian claims of genocide is to throw it back on them. We aren’t committing genocide–they are.  They aren’t the victims, we are. It’s a bit of rhetorical trickery.  It distorts the attack on 10/7 by transforming it into the Holocaust itself.  In doing so, he conflates two events which have nothing in common with each other.  This has the added purpose of erasing Israel’s genocide.  If Palestinians are committing genocide against “Jews,” they can’t possibly be victims of genocide themselves.

The speech is a rehash of themes he’s repeated ad nauseam over the years.  He’s little more than a hasbarabot programmed to repeat the same sound bytes endlessly.  The arguments hardly change over time.  It’s reminiscent of the Nazi Big Lie: if you repeat a lie often enough people start to believe it’s true.

During the same speech, Netanyahu offered even more astonishing lies, claiming there is no humanitarian crisis in Gaza.  In fact, he said Gazans are ‘overweight’ due to lack of exercise in tunnels, where they manage to eat quite well. The claim by Israel’s enemies of starvation there is, he said, “a fad”:

“We take thousands of prisoners, sort them out into civilians and combatants, and we photograph them… The first thing you do is you tell them, ‘Take your shirt off. We want to see that there is no suicide vest.’.. and you don’t see one, not one emaciated from the beginning of the war to the present,” he said.

“In fact, you see quite the opposite because you don’t get that much exercise, certainly not in tunnels, but you get food.”

So much for the hundreds of images of starving children, their bones protruding from their skin. Apparently, the thousands of Gazans who ransacked a UN warehouse desperately seeking food–and those who overran one of Israeli aid distribution sites in a desperate search for aid supplies–are well-fed, even plump.

He said with a straight face that Israel “from day one permitted Gazans to leave theaters of combat” while also “supplying them with essential requirements: food, water, medicine. That’s what international law and common sense require.”  In fact, in just the past few days he said the exact opposite: that Israel needed to provide the minimum amount of aid that would get western leaders off Israel’s back, so it could pursue its genocide unhindered.

He added another spurious claim: Israel “supplied them [Palestinians] with 1.8 million tons of food and aid. That’s why you didn’t have mass starvation at all.” Before we start cheering Israel’s magnanimity, note that the World Food Program supplied Gaza with 10 million tons of food in a two week period in January 2025

Further, Israel supplied Gaza with nothing.   UNWRA, UNICEF, WFP, Doctors Without Borders supplied these goods. Not Isrsel. Not to mention the three month period when Israel prohibited anything from entering Gaza: no food, water, shelter, etc. That seems to have slipped his mind.

In the past two days, the slapdash Israeli food program that promised it would feed 1-million Gazans in its first week, faced deadly riots when desperate Gazans stampeded the distribution sites.  The IDF, which Israel promised would remain outside the sites and not interfere with their activity, murdered 10 Palestinians and wounded scores of others.

This is the same aid program Israel and the US touted as the solution to the humanitarian crisis.  It would supplant the international NGOs which had been distributing what little aid Israel permitted entry.  It would supposedly prevent Hamas looting the aid and deny it earning any credit from Gazans for providing it.  Instead, Israel has engineered precisely the catastrophe of which it falsely accused Hamas.

Netanyahu has sunk even lower than ever. He has dragged Israel into a cesspool of his own making.  He is an Israeli Hitler.  An international war criminal.  Sometime, speedily and in our day, he will face justice for his crimes.  It can’t come a moment too soon.
