  1. “Imagine if two of the main parties in the UK were not Labour or Tory, but Anglican and Catholic. Imagine if the main parties in the US were not Democrat or Republican, but Roman Catholic and Protestant. The very idea is inconceivable.”

Britannia’s refinement of the Roman dictum of ‘divide et impera’ required it to sow its dragon’s teeth divisions as it withdrew it’s actual boots on the ground in order to perpetuate its rule by remote control.

It ain’t, as they say broke, its humming a£ong smooth£y according to p£an.
The bible makes a wonderful jemmy, in the u£tra-Right hands.
You are perfectly correct in seeing secular conscientious egalitarianism as the solution, but I’m not sure you have grasped that this requires the releasing of the idea of a tribal ‘Jewish god and Jewish people’ in favour of the bigger picture of accepting that every individual has their own nuanced interpretation of deity and that the toxin of sectarian exceptionalism (still extant in the US in WASP culture all the way to the KKK) is the bathwater from which the infant of truth must be salvaged.
