  1. Richard.

You do not evince any compassion for ‘Mark’, who is clearly suffering with psychological trauma.

Maybe ‘Mark’ needs your love, and not your harsh expose.

    1. @ Forrest: I should feel compassion for a grifter, someone who exploits others, takes their money and lies in their face? Sorry, but you’ll have to look elsewhere for pity from me. I know people who experience real psychological trauma. I have great depths of compassion for them. But not for those whose trauma causes suffering to others and deceives them.

Besides, if I felt no compassion for him I would not have mentioned his psychological trauma to begin with. I would just denounce him as evil personified and let it go at that.

  2. Let’s say for one moment that your theory is correct, which by the way, it isn’t. So what? Would Mark be the first person who has been guilty of “embellishing” the facts. He underwent a halachic conversion to Judaism; he had a halachic wedding (I was there); he has helped many people establish business contacts throughout the middle east as well as working for several years to import lulavs from Jordan. However, as I say, your story is missing one very important detail – it is wrong. Muslim families are renowned for hiding Jewish blood. Do you honestly think that the family are going to openly admit their past? When Mark was converting, his Grandmother refused to testify that she was Jewish, which is why he had to convert in the first place. He has however found and met with Jewish members of her family still living in Israel.

    1. @ Suzanne Lieberman:

Let’s say for one moment that your theory is correct…So what?

So what if someone lies and deceives his financial backers, his supporters, the Israeli government, the media, etc. So what? Really? That’s the best you can do? Sorry, but public figures who engage in widespread fraud are liable to exposure. We don’t forgive liars and sociopaths merely because someone they know interprets their behavior in a way that’s favorable. There have been plenty of dictators who gave candy to children. Does that excuse their abuses?

Would Mark be the first person who has been guilty of “embellishing” the facts.

“Embellished?” Is that what you call inventing an entire life story, turning his back on his birth mother and his religion in order to take up the cause of Israeli Judeo-fascists? That’s embellishment? I call it troubled delusional sociopathology

He underwent a halachic conversion to Judaism

He underwent a conversion which the Chief Rabbinate rejected, you mean. I assume if they’d changed their mind or he’d undergone conversion with a rabbi they accepted that you’d note that. In other words, the Chief Rabbi and therefore the State do not accept that he is formally a Jew. OK, now that we’ve gotten that out of the way…

he has helped many people establish business contacts throughout the middle east as well as working for several years to import lulavs from Jordan.

I don’t trust your claims about what he’s done any more than I trust his own. Not to mention, this is likely what he’s told you. If you can present real evidence that he’s done any of the things he’s claimed, I might have a different view of this. But since you can’t, I won’t.

Let’s also note that I have offered real evidence by real people who knew him including his own mother and uncle. I have pointed to grave flaws and contradictions in his own account of his life. What have you offered? Vague claims unsupported by any evidence whatsoever.

Muslim families are renowned for hiding Jewish blood.

Are you know this how? Because you are an expert in Islam? Have any credible historical or theological sources to support your claim? Or more bupkis of the sort Muntasir peddles?

Do you honestly think that the family are going to openly admit their past?

Given a choice between someone who is a pathological liar and a mother who is pained by her son’s psychological afflictions and abuse by his father, I choose the mother. You side with the liar. ‘Nuff said.

He has however found and met with Jewish members of her family still living in Israel.

Yes, I’m sure he has. He’s invented a fictitious past. Why not invent fictitious Jewish family.

  3. [comment deleted: you published this comment in the wrong post thread. Do not do this. It’s very confusing to readers. And before posting a comment read the post you’re commenting on carefully and address the arguments in the post carefully. What you did in your comment was to regurgitate views I’d already rebutted without addressing my rebuttal.]
