  1. Netanyahu falsely attacks Corbyn?

Not according to the Daily Mail, which actually sent a reporter to the Tunis cemetery to visit the site.
The Daily Mail discovered that the monument to the air strike victims is 15 yards from where Mr Corbyn is pictured – and in a different part of the complex.

Instead, Corbyn was standing in front of a plaque that lies beside the graves of Black September members

      1. Hi Elisabeth,

Black September was never a group separate and apart from Arafat’s Fatah party.
According to the State Department, the Black September Organisation (BSO) was just a cover name for Fatah’s terrorist operations unit.
        https://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/u-s-state-department-documents-plo-black-september-link-march-1973

The plaque, where Corbyn and friends are praying, honours three dead men: Salah Khalaf, who founded Black September; his key aide Fakhri al-Omari; and Hayel Abdel-Hamid, PLO chief of security.

Adjacent to their graves is that of Atef Bseiso, a Black September member at the time of the Munich massacre. No one said that the actual Munich massacre murderers are buried in Tunis. Their leaders and facilitators are buried there.

        1. Read the links I gave. The accusations of involvement with Munich were just accusations and denied by Bseiso. And by the way, you think it is OK then to bomb Fatah members as well, as they are “not separate from Black September”? Interesting. No one left to negotiate with soon huh? But oh, wait, that is exactly what Israel wants.
As to “no one said the actual Munich massacre murderers are buried in Tunis”…Really? This is what the pathological liar Netanyahu wrote: “The laying of a wreath by Jeremy Corbyn on the graves of the terrorist who perpetrated the Munich massacre…” blah blah blah. Once more, read the links!

        2. @Frank: oh Frankie boy…using the Jewish Virtual Library as a source on the PLO or Palestinians is like using Jack the Ripper’s letters as a source for 19th century manners. It is a tool of AIPAC, produced by an AIPAC staffer and funded by a pro Israel foundation. Not to mention, what the hell does AIPAC know about the PLO or Black September?!. The crap hasbaroids try to pass off as legitimate sources…

And yes, the headlines in UK and Bibi explicitly said Corbyn honored the perpetrators of the massacre. Abu Iyad was neither a planner nor perpetrator of the massacre.

Nor are the graves you mentioned where Corbyn placed his wreath.

You are done in this thread. Do not publish another comment here.

          Find another credible source.

    1. Come on, the Daily Mail is simply NOT a source ! Recently they had an article on “Muslim no-go zones” in Saint-Denis, a Parisian suburb, a French Muslim intellectual went though the article to debunk all the ‘mistakes’, amazing, frankly not one line without mistakes and lies !

    2. @ Frank: Is it any wonder that the newspaper’s nickname is the Daily Fail?  I wouldn’t trust anything printed in that rag.  Now if you find that a reputable, credible news media outlet makes such a report, do let me know.

In fact, NONE of the actual plotters and perpetrators of the Munich massacre are buried in that cemetery.  There are four leaders of the PLO who are buried there, none of whom played any role in Munich.  The most distinguished one is Abu Iyad, assassinated by Israel in 1991.  He is the individual to whom the Lobby is trying to link Corbyn.  Corbyn certainly had no idea who Abu Iyad was and he has said explicitly if anyone laid a wreath on his grave while he (Corbyn) was there, he knew nothing about it.  The goal of the wreath laying ceremony was to honor the victims of the 1985 Israeli attack on the PLO in Tunis.

In fact, Abu Iyad near the end of his life was working with Arafat to end armed struggle and recognize a two state solution.  All this is documented in my MEE piece.  BTW, read all the links in my post before you publish any comments.  All of your claims are addressed and rebutted by the sources I cite.  You would’ve saved yourself and the rest of us a lot of trouble by reading before you wrote.

  2. “Formerly an anti-Semite was somebody who hated Jews because they were Jews and had a Jewish soul. But nowadays an anti-Semite is somebody who is hated by Jews.” – Hajo Meyer

  3. As to comparisons between Israel and the Nazis, both fought aggressive wars of expansion to conquer peoples whom they considered inferior to themselves, subjecting them to a brutal military occupation.

  4. Not sure why the denial of his presence there. Corbyn wrote about it at the time on the Morning Star. https://morningstaronline.co.uk/a-98de-palestine-united-1

By the time this article is published, Corbyn agreed he was present but says – “I was present when it was laid. I don’t think I was actually involved in it.” https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-45185931

Ignoring facts when they are so clear is something to expect from a Trump voter, not from an enlightened progressive.

    1. @Josh: you are so mixed up. No one is denying he was at a wreath laying ceremony. What Corbyn denies is that he was at a wreath laying ceremony honoring the perpetrators of the Munich massacre.

As I’ve just noted, none of the Munich perpetrators are buried there. There are Assassinated PLO leaders in the cemetery who had nothing to do with Munich.

So yes Corbyn was at a ceremony honoring Palestinians who were murdered by Israel. BTW, the Israeli assassinations were violations of international law and could easily themselves be considered acts of state terrorism. Ever considered that?

  5. ‘… Though many of those murdered were Muslim Brotherhood supporters, by no means all were…’

What’s wrong with being a Muslim Brotherhood supporter in the first place? Objectively, I’d rank them somewhere around Mormons — I can’t say I want to join, but I don’t think they should be shot.

This is the sort of creeping Hasbara I find very troublesome. Even as one is inveighing against the latest lie (Corbyn), one finds oneself incorporating part of the previous wave of lies (the Muslim Brotherhood is an evil, terrorist organization).

Then when it comes time, and one is accused of defending the Islamic Brotherhood, one winds up saying ‘no I’m not’ instead of saying ‘what’s wrong with the Islamic Brotherhood? If they can win the election, more power to ’em.’ One is — without realizing it — already co-opted into the ranks of the Hasbarists and serving their interests.

  6. Concerning Abu Iyad and his killing in Tunisia: I met a Dutch woman years ago who told me about a Dutch diplomat (that she personally knew) who was killed in Tunisia shortly after Abu Iyad, she told me he was involved in diplomatic relations between the PLO and the West. At the time I didn’t have any further informations, but since the internet, I’ve found his name; Robert-Jan Akkerman, he was killed in Tunisia on Feb 27, 1991, a month and a half after Abu Iyad, that Dutch woman told me she (and I think family members of the diplomat too) were convinced he was killed by the Mossad as a false flag to provoke the relations to be cut off between the PLO and Western countries. I don’t know what is true, but the fact is that such a diplomat was killed in Tunisia shortly after Abu Iyad, maybe a story to dig up for Elisabeth ?

    1. I could only find that he was shot before his garage by three men who took off in a car, and that the murder has not been resolved to this day. Also that Akkermans was known to have had good relations with the representatives of the PLO, who had their headquarters in Tunis.

      1. Yes, that’s what the Dutch woman told me, that in fact he was involved in – at the time non-official – diplomatic relations between the West and the PLO, but also that on a personal level he had Palestinian friends in Tunisia. I lost contact with her, but I would really like to know more about the story, also I’ve tried to google, and not that much is written about the assassination in Dutch papers, am I right ? Anyway, it was before the internet so that might be a reason.

        1. @Deir Yassin: could you and Elisabeth do a Google search through Bergman’s book? Search on Akerman’s name and see if it comes up. My guess is it won’t because it would be a Mossad operation the censor would not have permitted him to write about. But you never know.

  7. [Comment deleted: offeringn opinion as established fact on a controversial subject is a comment rule violation. You offer not a single fact or source to support your blather. Do not do this again.]

  8. Concerning the four fingers sign made by Corbyn: it indeed indicates solidarity with the hundreds of people killed by the regime in Rabaa al-Adawiya Square in Nasr City (google Rabia sign wiki), Rabia (رابعه ) is a female name but it also means “fourth” (not ‘four’) in Arabic.
