Yet another in a long line of sex scandals has beset the Israeli intelligence apparatus. In this case, Channel 10 and Maariv report that Israeli police caught a senior intelligence agent (likely from Shabak or Mossad) who collected and disseminated pedophilia materials online along with at least two others serving in the IDF. One of his co-conspirators served in the defense ministry and the other served in an intelligence capacity, probably in AMAN.
The two younger defendants have been released, but the older intelligence officer has not. When the court ruled he should be released the police appealed the decision and his detention has been extended till the appeal is heard.
Maariv includes a dubious claim from the police that they take an active role in pursuing sex crimes like these. That’s dubious considering how many senior Israeli police commanders have themselves been accused of sexually harassing their female subordinates.

You always vilify and castigate Israel’s police and you’ve never uttered a word of praise even when they arrest pedophiles, or root out corruption in the highest places in government.

@ Seamus: Because Israeli police are among the most corrupt, violent, mendacious, dysfunctional, intolerant, and homicidal of any police force in the west (if we attribute Israel to the west). I’ve documented this in hundreds of posts here. There is literally nothing to praise.
Even the cybercrime unit which exposed this pedophile ring is responsible for getting Twitter to censor tweets of mine for Israeli tweeps. So no, no praise from me.
