I don’t know what it is about reporting on Israeli drone failures that brings the right-wing con artists and hoaxsters out of the woodwork, but the ghouls are out in force once more. Maybe it’s the influence of Halloween or the new moon.
You’ll recall that after my last report on a drone crash, one of the ‘con men’ sent me material purporting to describe Israel’s strategy for using drones to attack Iran. I published a post with the material, then discovered that the administrators of the Fresh military forum concocted it and it was a fraud designed to discredit my reporting.
After the post I published a few days ago about Hamas’ hack of another Israeli drone, I received another anonymous document from a purported Israeli soldier claiming that she couldn’t stand by and watch a “war crime” happen. She reported that Israel planned to retaliate for the drone hack by attacking a Hamas media outlet in Gaza.
Why the IDF would “retaliate” for hacking a drone, and why attacking a Gaza TV or radio station would be a “war crime,” was sadly unexplained.
The document contained detailed technical information about the drones and how they were hacked. I suppose this was meant to whet my appetite further and distract me from some of the obvious fakery in the entire enterprise. The first hint was that the document offered was sent from the Israeli National Cyber Bureau. Though such a beast does exist, any documents about drones or an attack on Gaza would come from the IDF. This document didn’t.
When I replied to the hoaxster that I knew the entire thing was a hoax, a strange thing happened–silence. No bragging. Nobody publishing articles at Algemeiner Journal, CIF Watch, Israellycool or Fresh celebrating with high-fives. Just silence. Why is it when their fakery “succeeds” they take credit, but when they fail they cringe in their lairs refusing to move lest anyone discover what fools they are?
I find it extraordinary that anyone would have the time or energy to waste in such jackassery. But it does prove the emptiness of the hasbara enterprise, which comes down to shoddy attempts to embarrass others. There is no legitimate argument left for these people to make in support of their rightist vision. So they resort to destruction, chicanery and fraud. James O’Keefe would be proud.
Something is “wrong” with Israeli drones on larger scale. From small to larger drones.
Today in Finnish news is that the 55 mini drones (Orbiter 2 made by Aeronautics Defense Systems) Finnish Army ordered in spring 2012 have not been delivered. Aeronautics should have started the delivers in this year, but now it is clear that the delivers will be delayed. Israelis obviously could not estimate how long the delay will be. It is very rare that Finnish Army informs of such delays in orders, which indicates that the Finnish generals are very pissed off of the situation. Obviously Finnish Army has paid much in advance and now gets only “odd” excuses.

The Orbit mini UAV seems to be a several years “old” product used by several armies so the “excuses” of technical production difficulties and sub contractor difficulties seem very odd. This drone type is hardly very high tech because Israelis are intending (if not already are, the news was from march 2011) to produce them also in Spain and Azerbaijan.
What is amusing “somebody” has had time to update Finland as an operator of Orbit the wiki page.

Frankly I didn’t spend any more time reading that garbage than I needed to determine it was a hoax. You apparently have more time on your hands to waste or you wrote it.
