A new Haaretz poll finds that Israelis are almost evenly split on whether Israel should attack Iran, 41% for and 39% against. I recall a similar poll of several years ago which asked how many thought Israel would eventually go to war against Iran and the numbers were much higher. So it’s possible as the prospect has become more tangible, Israelis are having second thoughts. A majority in the current survey, however trust Netanyahu and Barak’s policy toward Iran. Presumably if there is a war that number might change significantly.

So at least half seem to be sane. There was a piece in the Washington Times recently by an ex Agency Iranian claiming Iran already has nukes bought from the ex Soviet bloc. Similar claims have been made elsewhere. If so then attacking Iran would be the most likely way to get Khamenei to use them, and Netanyahu could go down in the history books as the guy that destroyed Israel to save it, or to apply Bismarck’s dictum, committed suicide from fear of death. Even he can’t be that nuts, can he?
The economy of Western developed nations is on the brink of a meltdown with Greece teetering on the edge of default, and while everyone is trying to avoid financial implosion, the only obsession on the minds of selfish Israeli and U.S. Zionists revolves around bombing Iran, a fateful blunder which will no doubt send markets and humanity’s security into catastrophic free fall.
This will be the last nail in the coffin for Israel’s reputation worldwide. If Israel is responsible for a 2012 catastrophe that many have predicted for this coming year; it will become the most despised nation on the planet. Let me put it this way, provoking trouble in 2012 is definitely tempting FATE and begging for trouble. Who would dare rock the boat with this singular year approaching, and with the economy already in such a fragile state, except for a bunch of lunatics?
Many people may be ruined financially and countless lives could be put in peril. The destruction that might be triggered by the stupidest of all stupid moves Israel could make at this critical time could affect this planet for decades to come.
Can’t we just have some peace of mind in that arena at least for God’s sakes?? We have enough troubles looming without Zionists attempting to unleash Armageddon on all of us.
Someone needs to stop their madness. Israel has no right to drag the entire world down with it when everyone else is trying to survive a crisis and avoid disaster.
The Security Council should convene to stop Israel immediately from taking any further steps with this lunacy that is a definite threat to global security.
