  1. The Quartet might as well be disbanded. Tony Blair is certainly not worth the money spent on his salary and his posh, rarely used digs at the King David Hotel!

  2. The Palestinians should be smart. The statement referenced “Road Map” obligations. Just respond by saying that Palestine is ready for negotiations as soon as Israel implements its stage one road map obligation: A freeze of all settlement activity including “natural growth”, and dismantling all settlement outposts built since 2001.

    Just take the rope they’ve provided in the statement, tie it into a proper knot and toss it back to them so they can hang themselves with it.

      But was strangely silent about these long overdue Phase II obligations:

      Quartet members promote international recognition of Palestinian state, including
      possible UN membership.

  3. If the parties directly involved can not arrange for negotiations, then how can we expect outsiders to do any better?

    Even money does not fix the problem.
