  1. ‘Harvest Time’ is a very interesting title for this film. Every year I get letters and e-mails from various charities at work in the West Bank, recruiting international volunteers for olive planting or harvest. The international presence is needed to reduce the chance of sabotage by settlers. Only last week I had another e-mail telling me about another olive grove that has been poisoned – the Hussein family orchard near the settlement of Har Bracha.

Presumably this element of settler agricultural activity is not featured in the film. Out of interest, how are its Palestinians portrayed? Are they terrorists? Or do they simply not exist at all?

    1. Terribly cute kids though! They SHOULD live in Israel, just without their lawless, moral depraved parents’ undue influence. 🙂

      1. The children (like most) were cute, but the way they were used was not. The more I think about the trailer/promo, the more it reminds me of a Wagnerian opera. I can almost envision Netanyahu and Lieberman arriving in a swan boats.

        1. RE: “arriving in a swan boats.” – me, above
SHOULD HAVE BEEN: arriving in swan boats
ELUCIDATION: Originally I envisioned them “arriving in a swan boat”. But after some thought, it seemed more likely that they would arrive in separate swan boats. I added the ‘s’ to boat but neglected to remove the ‘a’.

          1. You’re wholly right. They were used for a message that kids, if a referendum were to be taken amongst children, would probably not agree with!

          2. To clarify, I mean that even children would know that settling on top of other people is wrong. lol

  2. I had seen Liron Levo in a film
called Disengagement which starred Juliette Binoche and was
about the forced evacuation of the settlers from Gaza. Binoche plays a character who is looking for her daughter in
one of the settlements. She finds the daughter (who is very
happy in the settlement) and there are long scenes depicting
the disengagement. Lots of shrieking and sobbing and crowd
scenes. Not a very good film.

    1. I liked that one, though I’ll admit that I’m a sucker for Juliette Binoche.

The best films I’ve seen with Levo are Kippur (about a rescue unit on Golan Heights in Yom Kippur War) and Strangers

  3. It’s pretty short trailer, but I can make two things out of it:

    1) The film has a good chance of receiving Limor Livnat’s “Zionist oevre” prize.

    2) The film looks like crap, feels like crap and smells like crap. What can it be?

    1. If you can believe it, this piece of crap is actually a 30 min movie! If this trailer is that bad imagine what the rest of it is like.

The film looks like crap, feels like crap and smells like crap. What can it be?

      Hmmm. Let me guess…
