  1. Let’ see —
the oligarchs have taken over this museum, and the Jewish Agency: what else have they already or will they soon add to their base for “creating Jewish identity”?!

  2. Speaking of diaspora, this happened while I was there, escaping Israel for a month to be with my grandkids. So I just saw this.

It may interest you to know that Avi Armoni is a former director of the New Israel Fund. He took over from me in 1991 and probably served 5-6 years. During his tenure, I did a radio plug on behalf of the Hadash (Arab-Jewish) Party in Israel, and was introduced as “former head of the New Israel Fund”. Avi was soon on the phone asking me not to plug Hadash, as it could harm the reputation of the Fund. I told him I was a free agent already. He didn’t like it.

Incidentally, I am a swing voter and plugged Kadima in the most recent election.

  3. Thanks for the info, Gila.

(but I must say voting for Livni, who is not just a war criminal, but also a shallow, hollow stooge for the likkudist principles and big money interests that run Kadima seems incompatible with your respectable resume of activism)

  4. You mean the peace activists who were so rudely interrupted while beating Israeli soldiers to death?

How could anyone be so insensitive as to make fun of that?

    1. beating Israeli soldiers to death?

Jeez, I missed that headline. Can you point out a link to that story? You know, the one that never happened.

How could anyone be so insensitive as to make fun of that?

What LATMA does isn’t fun, isn’t funny, and has about as much wit as a piece of elephant dung.
