  1. IOF soldiers are literally getting away with murder. A young man was murdered in Gaza yesterday by a live round shot through his femoral artery. He was only 21 years old.

Last week was the anniversary of Bassem Abu Rahma, who was killed a year ago by an IOF soldier who fired a high velocity tear gas canister at his chest. He was 29. The IOF declined to discipline the soldier responsible despite videotape showing clearly that the young man, unarmed and trying to protect a herd of sheep from gunfire, was murdered.

  2. Sir,
Thank you for your (as usual) sharp and accurate criticism.

I would like to add that I was 10 meters away from the shooter, who was aiming at the heads of the demonstrators, and emptying his gun (which has six rounds) at their general direction (bang bang, bang bang bang bang.) from the first or second shot Imad was hit, and people started screaming, but the soldier kept of shooting. shooting and smiling. spraying a NON-VIOLENT demonstration with lethal gun-fire (since this is what the gas projectiles become when you aim them at people from a short distance and not at the mandated 60 degree angle).
The soldier’s slavic looks did not help the impression, i cant bring myself to write the word of what.

    Shabat Shalom

  3. RE:”When have you ever heard of a head wound requiring reconstructive surgery being superficial??” – R.S.
MY COMMENT: Be that as it may, Imad Rezqa should “thank his lucky star(s)” he did not suffer serious damage to his brain like the American activist Tristan Anderson (after
Israeli forces shot him in the head with a tear gas canister).

    1. Thanks for the link. I found a comment I posted on that thread and had a laugh. Less than a year ago, I still believed in the peace process. Not anymore.

  4. “Since when have you ever heard of a concussion from a high velocity tear gas rifle causing a “superficial wound??” When have you ever heard of a head wound requiring reconstructive surgery being superficial?”

from the same part of the world where people who throw rocks at soldiers call themselves “peaceful demonstrators”

    1. That remark is so idiotic that I just can’t pass this up.

How many demonstrations have you attended, O Oracle of Israel? I suggest you might just want to attend a few and see what happens there.

Eruptions of violence are not commonplace in Bilin, and Bassem abu Rahma was killed by an IOF tear gas canister as he was trying to move a herd of goats away from the demonstration. No stones, no weapons were used by any of the demonstrators.

There are stone throwers in street altercations, but a stone is not a bullet. The IOF is shooting stone throwers with live bullets, which is murder. Shooting children. And sometimes catching these children and breaking their arms to teach them a lesson.

      Proud, aren’t you?

      1. your point being what?

it was reported in haaretz that stones were thrown…there was no denial from the protestors….therefore it was not a peaceful protest

btw, how many times have you been hit with stones?

try an experiment…go out to the park and ask a bunch of kids to pelt you with stones…then get back to me how good it felt and how you werent injured at all

oh, and not pebbles….big old rocks

and what the heck is a “live bullet” i think you meant to say live round…which are in fact rubber coated….which hurt like the dickens and never should be fired at someones head

and you are wrong…eruptions of violence are very commonplace in every friday afternoon protest…they are like clockwork…if they werent, why do those who post the vids of the events always highly edit them?

i stand by my statement…only in the mideast is a protest where the protestors throw rocks called “non-violent”

        1. it was reported in haaretz that stones were thrown…there was no denial from the protestors….therefore it was not a peaceful protest

I am rapidly losing patience w. yr utter inanity. I believe Haaretz said that the IDF claimed stones were thrown, which is not what you wrote. But even if one or two protesters throw stones that gives the IDF no right to kill other unarmed demonstrators who are not throwing stones. By all accounts, none of those killed or wounded by the IDF were throwing stones or engaging in any aggressive behavior.

how many times have you been hit with stones?

Once, by a group of right wing Israeli thugs in Jerusalem. You know what? I’d rather be hit in the chin by a stone (which I was) than be hit in the head by a high velocity tear gas canister. I’ll pay you to engage in an experiment. Go to Bilin, wave a Palestinian flag within 30 yards of an IDF hooligan, get shot by a tear gas canister, & then tell me whether you’d prefer to be hit by a rock or the canister. Sorry I won’t have enough funds to pay for yr medical bills. But Friends of the IDF should chip in once you make known your status as a hasbara booster.

eruptions of violence are very commonplace

If you watched any of these videos you’d know that there are no eruptions of violence except on the part of the IDF. Stone throwing is not an eruption of violence.

          1. richard,

it really is confusing holding a conversation on this blog.

i respond to someone, and then you come in

i am not paid by nor am i affiliated with any pro zionist group…i am an individual, living in los angeles, who came upon your blog while googling the recent incidents that had been occuring regarding goldstone and the sa jewish community, so please dont allude that i am part of any hasbara campaign.

sure, i will take you up on your offer to go to the west bank…if you would like, i will email you all my information and you can wire me the funds for the plane trip and who i can contact to take part in one of these “peaceful protests”

however, i will report back honestly. if even one rock from a protester is thrown, prior to a soldier firing anything….if even one protester enters an area that is considered to be no mans land, knowing full well that to cross that line will cause the soldier to fire….i will report that.

i have a feeling that i will be waiting a long time before i see any money

im sorry richard, i have watched many of the videos. i have yet to see one that is not heavily edited. if you could point out a link of one that is not, that shows the protest from start to finish, i will gladly watch it.

in fact, why dont you post a link to the vid of the above incident? i am sure there is one. you will have proven your point and i will apologize.

i am sorry about what happened to you. did you file a police report? do you have pictures of your injuries? i will gladly assist you in getting recompense for injuries sustained when you were struck by rocks. i will form a group that sees to it those who were responsible for your assault are brought to justice.

as an aside, how is rezka doing?

as to your comment below, please allow me to cut and paste the following:

          2. You clearly have not read my comment rules despite repeated admonishment to do so. YOu are banned. If you wish to resume commenting you may read the rules, let me know you’ve read them, & that you intend to follow them in future comments here. Till then, have fun in Hasbaraland.

          3. i have yet to see one that is not heavily edited.

They’re not “edited.” These are videos in which the videographer shoots footage, removes his finger from the On button, & then turns it on again when he wishes to resume shooting. Have you never shot video yrself? Or watched home movies? Do you really believe the anti-Wall movement has the will or interest in taking these videos to a PC or wherever & manipulating the footage to make the death scenes even more “impressive” then they already are? You are a fatuous fool.

i am sorry about what happened to you. did you file a police report? do you have pictures of your injuries? i will gladly assist you in getting recompense for injuries sustained when you were struck by rocks. i will form a group that sees to it those who were responsible for your assault are brought to justice.

Doubly fatuous. This happened in 1972. Thanks for nothing. When you grow up & can act more or less like a mature adult then get back in touch & yr privileges may be reinstated.

    2. A complete non sequitur. Congratulations, you’re making even less sense than usual. BTW, when has a single one of those rocks killed a soldier or even landed one in the hospital? Now compare that number to the number of dead & seriously wounded from IDF WEAPONS (not rocks).

      1. [comment deleted–You will not publish another comment here until you agree to abide by the same rules everyone else does. I outlined how your privileges could be reinstated. Follow those rules & you will be. Continue being an ass & you won’t.]

  5. This is the level to which hasbarists have sunk. The only way they can argue against the reality in Palestine is to make nonsensical accusations interspersed with childish snark. The behavior of the occupational forces is sinking to a new low; protestors are being injured or killed on an almost daily basis.

Shooting stone throwers with live ammunition is overkill. Aiming and firing teargas projectiles and protestors is no different than firing live ammo. The IOF knows very well the deadliness of those canisters, from past experience.
