The Cohens thought they were tough guys; in truth they are some amalgam of the Gestapo, the South African police, and the French paratoopers in Algeria in the 1950s.

For a contrast to this story, here is a story about Muslims and Jews cooperating:

Years ago I read an interview with an Israeli doctor that I have never been able to get out of my mind. He treated patients at Ansar 1 (or 2 or 3) during the first Intifada. Children were kept there together with adult men and we all know what happens in such situations. One day a child came to him who was bleeding. He had been raped. The doctor did not challenge the system that made children prone to such abuse. He did not alert his superiors, he did not do anything to get the children out of this situation. No, he gave the boy some vaseline so that it would not hurt so much the next time.
I don’t know what to say about such a story. It leaves me speechless.

The English Ha’aretz article no longer names the victim, it seems they changed it. Perhaps the Hebrew version still does?
