Israeli reporters bring word that the Anat Kamm trial is to begin tomorrow. This means that the Shin Bet was unwilling to compromise and to negotiate for a reduced sentence. It also means that they feel the need to make an example of her.
For those who know Hebrew, here is a radio discussion about Kamm (audio stream), her current living conditions and the upcoming trial. The hosts interviews Kamm’s spokesperson, Nissim Dweck, who notes that “calling her act spying is to demean the meaning of the term.”

As for making an example of her, from what I understand, the more serious charges require a proof of intent to harm state’s security. How this can be accomplished in her case?
