Expectation of fame is such a nasty thing.
Because of it, Kate McGarrigle is considered something of a failure.

The McGarrigles decided not to tour which limited their visibility. Those who weren’t where their few live concerts took place, didn’t hear them. A loss for many of us but not an uninformed choice.

I consider Kate a huge success, especially of her healthy approach to ‘fame’. An inspiration to musicians and listeners alike.
