Richard, thanks for bringing to light these stories, which are hard to come by, elsewhere. The piece by David Shulman, may he continue his ways, was especially enlightening. You should remind your readers and all those commenters who take various positions, that it is OUR tax dollars that are supporting Israeli thuggery. It is time to withhold.

Gene, I suggest you might want to subscribe to RSS feeds for news from Haaretz and other publications. There are many of them on the net. Of if you prefer, you can receive the online newspaper via email.

The thug Netanyahu, by putting together this little deal for the settlers, is in effect giving them all a financial incentive to stay in the West Bank, should they be thinking of leaving. By doing this, Bibi the Rat makes sure that the Palestinians will never regain any land that was stolen from them. By focusing the bulk of the money on building up small outpost-style settlements, he will be ensuring that they become, and will remain, permanent.

So much for the two-state solution, and so much for a peace settlement from this creep.

  2. Gene Schulman says:

Thanks, Mary. I don’t subscribe, but I do browse through Haaretz almost every day on line. I didn’t see anything on David Shulman. Maybe I just have too much to read, elsewhere, as Richard may have noticed.

Netanyahu is not the only creep around. He’s just the latest manifestation of Zionist fascism. Nor is the US bunch much different. I have no hope of ever seeing peace in the region so long as the US supports Israel financially, which they are bound to do because Israel does the dirty work of maintaining chaos in the region for them.
I suggest you read Uri Avneri’s piece of Dec. 14 at ZMag.com. I sent it to Richard. He might want to reprint it or comment on it.

    Cheers, all.

    • Mary says:

You’re right, Gene. Netanyahu is just the latest in a long line of creeps. I guess his arrogance is what appalls me; and I see so much of Dick Cheney in him that it’s scary.

It’s clear that Israel doesn’t give a damn about international law, doesn’t give a damn if it invokes a Third Intifada (it would just give them an excuse to kill more Palestinians and steal more land), doesn’t give a damn about world opinion. It is truly a pariah state on the path to self-destruction.
