   Wishful thinking on possible Russian support for a tighter, more multilateral sanctions regime does not appear to be solely property of the United States, then.

   I presume this must be a ploy by which Israel hopes to put pressure on Russia to adopt a policy that it (Israel) wants it (Russia) to adopt. If so, this seems awfully feeble. Medvedev could brush this off as an elephant swats a fly.

   He could certainly do that, and more. A majority of Israeli oil imports come from Russia and its central Asian neighbors around the Caspian Sea.
