Adin ‘McQueen’

Adin with Lightning McQueen balloon race car

Adin with Lightning McQueen balloon race car

Adin’s favorite kid’s film character is Lightning McQueen, hero of Cars. “Favorite” is far too mild a term. It’s his obsessive, most loved, adored movie character. He has Lightning McQueen pjs, Lightning McQueen shirts, Lightning McQueen race cars, books. You name it, he’s got it. Lightning is this boy’s best friend.

We attended a picnic today at which there were two balloon ladies. When Adin’s turn came he asked for Lightning McQueen. The balloon woman was a real trooper about it. She admitted she’d never made a race car before but she’d try just for him. And she did a nice job. Adin was pleased and here is the product of her labors.

When you ask Adin to smile for the camera he squints for some reason.  When you catch a genuine smile for the camera, it’s wonderful.  This wasn’t one of ‘em.  But he’s pleased as punch by his balloon Lightning.
