He is a demagogue and quite frankly he appeals to so many who (a) are fed up with this "peace process" jingle and (b) show total disdain for Arabs in general and (c) believe that Israel's destiny is for Israelis only and no American administration can make them give up what they don't want to give up. Just looking through the web, there are many Libermanites out there who didn't vote for him but speak in his language of Iron Wall and ridiculing the US role in "imposing" a solution. Sharon was arrogant, but also a very smart. He was a brilliant General. He wouldn't want to provoke his ally. Lieberman I just can't figure. His statement sounds moronic.
