Linked and excerpted again, Richard. Thanks for your insight, context and activism.

Thank you for informing so many people of this outrageous article – and thank you for speaking our against this ignorance and hateful bigotry

While it doesn’t directly follow from “If somebody is coming to kill you, rise up and kill him first.” it would be incorrect to claim that Jewish law prohibits collective punishment in time of war see for example:

  4. [...] Appropriate? No, I don’t think so either. And, quite rightly there should be serious consequences to the newspaper for pubslishing this (for an excellent post on the article see this) [...]

  5. Lawrence Kulak says:

I would love to personally drive you and Marty into Gaza and then return several hours later to watch the vultures pick at the remains. (and later watch the vultures drop dead from ingesting poison)

  6. @Lawrence Kulak: But Larry, if they stopped us when you drove us into Gaza I’d merely tell them that you favored killing Muslim innocents & it might be you they’d feed to the vultures & not me.

BTW, a good number of Israelis have visited Gaza lately & all made it back without a single vulture attacking them. In fact, Israelis were more hostile to them than Gazans. So much for Kulak’s understanding of Gaza & Hamas.

As for poison Larry, I’d say it’s you who’s full of it, not me. I’ve rarely heard a more hate-filled rant than what I read of yours in the 5 Towns Jewish Shmate. But mazel tov for Worst Anti-Muslim Jewish Wingnut Rant of the YEAR. You deserve it.

Of course the Gazans wouldn’t be hostile to you. In fact they would likely roll out a red carpet to welcome a man who disregards what is best for his own people to support them while they are still at war with us, trying to advocate a peace agreement that would allow them to become stronger and continue their war against Israel following their
understanding of Quaran (that prohibits permanent peace agreements with infidels) as honestly expressed by their leaders:

Senior Hamas official Abdel Aziz al-Rantissi offered a 10-year truce, or hudna, in return for a complete withdrawal by Israel from the territories captured in the Six Day War, and the establishment of a Palestinian state (it later repeated the same offer after winning the majority in the PLC, accepting the 2002 Arab Peace Initiative[33]). Hamas leader Sheikh Ahmed Yassin stated that the group could accept a Palestinian state in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. Rantissi confirmed that Hamas had come to the conclusion that it was “difficult to liberate all our land at this stage, so we accept a phased liberation.”
    as mentioned at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamas

  8. @Ariel: You’re quoting an assassinated Hamas leader as if he was alive & controlled current Hamas policy. That would be a neat trick if Rantissi could pull it off. I’d suggest that Rantissi doesn’t determine Hamas policy but that Haniyeh & Meshal do (they ARE alive in case you were wondering) & both have offered the long term truce and neither has said it was part of a plot to eventually liberate all of Palestine from Israel.

As for whether I’d be pecked to death by vultures or welcomed with a red carpet if I entered Gaza, I wish you right wing Orthodox pro settler extremists would get your stories straight. Maybe I could give you Kulak’s e mail & you could figure it out amongst yrselves & get back to me.

As far as i am concerned either outcome would not be a bad thing.
If they would “feed you to vultures” (which I doubt very much) as Mr. Kulak suggests it could be used as evidence that they are irrational barbarians who are not even able to show gratitude to their Jewish supporters. If however they would roll out the red carpet and welcome you that would help destroy much of the credibility you may have left similar to the effect of Naturei Karta’s visit to Iran.:-)
    Shavua Tov!

Considering you call yrself an Orthodox Jew you are a despicable representative of the breed in saying you would be smugly satisfied with vultures feeding on my dead body.

  12. Prof. K says:

Let’s take notice of the Jews genocide and ethnic cleansing muerdering of innocent civilians in the Gaza Strip the last 3 days. Appalling things like bombing a university, killing hundreds of innocent, NONinvolved civilians (many of them babies and children and elderly). Hopefully the Arabs have finally had enough after 60 years of constant Israeli terrorism and genocide and will nuke the bastards!

  13. @Prof. K: I see the right wing pro Israel crowd is not to be outdone by their opposites on the other side. Congratulations, you’ve one upped them on the hate meter.

It’s good to see moderate articles like this, with Jewish people denouncing their own hatemongers. (As all religions should denounce their fanatics).
