Sarah Palin Key to Future of Conservative Movement
Yes, that seems to be what leaders of the national conservative movement truly believe. As far as I’m concerned, let ‘em believe it. Let ‘em make her their standard bearer in 2012. It will only make them the laughingstock of American politics.
I particularly liked this passage from the Times article:
She has received extensive policy tutorials and been briefed on foreign policy almost daily. Aides say she has taken particular interest in Pakistan and Israel and in causes of Islamic extremism, which she has related to the economic despair that plagues parts of Alaska.
Huh? Poverty and Islamic extremism in Pakistan remind her of Alaskan poverty? Gee, whatever tutorials she’s getting don’t seem to be helping much. But if she runs for president in a few years, this passage will give reporters some fun as they ask her to fill in the blanks.

If Palin is the future of the GOP, they’ll be out of power for a long time. There is a lot of infighting in the Republican Party and they are going to realize that their message isn’t going to stick, especially with the changing demographic. The GOP won’t look the same in 4-8 years.
