Hallelujah! Good, I agree with every word on Rosner. To think that some deluded people consider him a leftist! His unmistakable right-wing positions were obvious when one examined his list of guests he hosted: mostly, they were the typical “hawkish” type or avowed neocons. The “leftmost” I can remember was the former US ambassador to Israel Dan Kurtzer.

Merely pronouncing it with authority, doesn’t make it so. Shmuel Rosner was well to the left of both the Israeli political spectrum and the American Jewish political spectrum. There’s a reason AIPAC gets 100,000+ paid members and 7,000 at their annual policy conference–they speak to the concerns of American supporters of Israel of both the left and right. If you want your voice to be represented in the authoritative pro-Israel political lobby then you have to join rather than grumble on the sidelines. If Akiva Eldar is your standard of quality neutral journalism, then you don’t understand journalism or the events of the day. Rosner, while being unable to hide his left-wing political slant, was a quality journalist who must have had the help of a dozen people because he was too prolific for one man. I wish him well.

@Alan: That was comedy wasn’t it? You’re to the right of Shmuel Rosner who is a leftist in yr view. Yet you view him as a “quality journalist” because he was “too prolific for one man.” Who’re you kiddin’?
