Good for you Richard. These people don’t speak in my name either. The more they are exposed, the better off we will all be. Keep up your good work. It’s a pleasure to be on the same wave-length with you.
Richard – there is an issue with the formatting in IE – the YouTube windows is covering up the first paragraph. I can see it in Firefox. I’m not very good with CSS etc – so I’m not sure exactly what the problem is.
I have the same problem i.e. YouTube window is covering up the first para.
I couldn’t help it, your comparison with a President addressing invading Martians immediately conjured up images of Tim Burton’s film, Mars Attacks!
Hoenlein’s message however reminds me of nothing so much as the Vietcong’s English language radio broadcasts, assuring the GIs they had nothing against their American brethren and urging them to lay down their arms and return home. Like you I’m sure that now, as then, the addressees of this laughable propaganda know perfectly well where Brother Hoenlein can stick it.
Has anyone else noticed that the translation is in Arabic and not Farsi? Regardless of the content of this video, it’s pretty pointless if it’s translated into the wrong language.
Could IE users let me know whether my tweaking has fixed the display problem mentioned by Rupa & Dan above.
@JohnC: Good catch. If that’s correct, I wonder if Hoenlein & his folks are just incompetent & don’t understand Iranians don’t speak Arabic; or whether he deliberately wants this to circulate in the Arabic-speaking world. At any rate, directing an Arabic broadcast to a Farsi speaking country (if that indeed is what he’s doing) is beyond dumb.
Mr Silverstein, the problem is solved. I can see the full text.
