Jon Stewart: If We Can Elect a Moron in 2000, Why Can’t We Elect an African-American in 2008?

Jun 2nd, 2008 by Richard Silverstein | 1

Thanks to Clotilde Luce for this great piece of TV humor:

In Larry King’s recent interview with Jon Stewart, Larry asked him if America was ready for either a woman or a black president.

Jon looked at him quizzically and said, ‘This is such a non-question. Did anyone ask us in 2000 if Americans were ready for a moron?’

One Comment on “Jon Stewart: If We Can Elect a Moron in 2000, Why Can’t We Elect an African-American in 2008?”

  1. Brad A. Greenberg said:

Jon Stewart, one of the sharpest men in America. His assessment of the difference between American Jews and Israelis wasn’t as good as his answer for Larry King, but it’s still worth mentioning:

“You have American Jews, who are the ‘let me help you with your tax return’ Jews. And you have Israeli Jews, who are the ‘hold my machine gun while I take a leak’ Jews.”
