   Perhaps the slowdown on Obama attacks is because, after seeing his position on Israel and the Palestinians (cf his answers to the Weisenthal Center questionnaire to the candidates), people see his position is no different from anyone else’s, now or before. Same old, same old.

   I don’t agree. Yes, on the face of it Obama is little different than Clinton. But many people not only know Obama’s views on the conflict but they know his ME staffers & they have a qualitatively diff. approach to this than Clinton. I know it’s hard to hear “trust us” or “trust them,” but if he’s elected (by no means guaranteed) you will see a qualitatively diff. I-P policy fr. the U.S. government. I think certain Jews intrinsically know this & are very scared because it means the free ride Israel has gotten for such a long time will be over. Not that Obama will become an enemy of Israel. Not at all. But he will be a mediator & honest broker rather than a cheerleader, which has been our disastrous policy for 7 yrs. or more. AIPAC is used to getting its way 100% of the time & that may become a thing of the past–and not a moment too soon as far as I’m concerned.

   The pro-Israel’s position on BO is very interesting. I only hope they are right in their fear that BO’s fealty is all for show.

   That’s what I’m banking on, anyway.
