Certainly the idea of Tikkun Olam must date back at least to the Aleinu. “L’takeyn olam b’malkhut Shaddai,” “to repair the world in the Kingdom of G-d,” hardly a minor tinkering.

I think the Aleinu is an early prayer but the Mishnah & even Mishnah Torah predate it I believe.
