Why don't we just make them the 51st state. Better yet, maybe the Israelis would consider a big chunk of Nevada and just leave the Middle East. I'll be glad to pay a special tax to rebuild Israel in Nevada. But I guess they won't give up their fairy tale religious sites... so we're stuck. Isn't religion great!

@Eric: I'm truly sad to find that UC Berkeley, the school where I studied for my Phd has some sort of affiliation with this person. How standards have fallen since I was there.

It seems to me she's parroting Charles Krauthammer's "Holocaust Declaration" idea:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/04/10/AR2008041003271.html

In Hebrew we say "Kelev Nove'ach Lo Noshech" (a barking dog doesn't bite)...I'd don't mind the candidates barking...Of course I'd rather see the candidates call for a demilitarization of the whole Middle East from nuclear weapons, but that will probably only happen in Aharit Hayamim...As far as I know, among public figures, only Ted Turner has supported this idea (on a recent Charlie Rose show that I happened to watch).
Israeli jounalist Gideon Spiro is one of the leading figures in Israel today advocating a mutual nuclear disaramament and calling on Israel to sign the NPT and open up its huge stockpiles of nuclear, chemical and biological weapons for international inspection. It's time to kasher Israel (and the whole Middle East) from its treif weapons.
