This is actually a very good post.
Yes, al Kaida did the 9/11 operation because they were increasingly marginalized – they were looked upon as an embarassment in the islamic world.
The US intervention in Iraq gave them prestige and hordes of new recruits and sympathizers.
I am still amazed that the opportunity to unite the world as it fell to America on 9/11 was not grasped and a new world paradigm entered. Well, we just used it as an excuse for a nice colonial war and to realize PNAC’s plan to “strengthen Israel”.
