'- There is no military solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

- The destinies of the Israeli and Palestinian people are inextricably linked and the land that some call Greater Israel and others Palestine is a land for two people.'

The sentiment here is excellent and unassailable: it's the methods for sharing out the land that are always subject to so much contention.

Too many refuseniks exist on both sides to drag down any plan having this regard, even where such plans contain the very best of intentions and the finest of pedigrees.

So why not simply make everyone an offer - an offer they can't refuse?

I think you must know where this is going, Richard. The music might seem strange at first but the tune is one that could become very familiar.
